Kit from blauparts.com 30K miles
Italian made water pump by Saleri, epic fail. plastic impeller separated 1/2 year ago , shaft siezed last week causing T-belt to hop over sprocket.
luckily, i turned engine off and towed the car home
This past weekend , I looked at the near disaster . Engine timing still good , no skipped teeth. T-belt worn on its side
Replaced everything with kit from dieselgeek
Moral of the story, stay away from Saleri pumps, at least my experience has been negative.
No response from blauparts.com yet

replaced T-belt using Dieselgeek kit and Blau parts won't see a penny of my hard earned dollars. Actually , I have a Jetta 04 coming for a T-belt change and its owner wanted to bring the Blau kit , I told him he can install it himself. Instead, he got it along with other parts from IDParts

I did confirm that the Saleri Pump has a fiber impeller; not such a good idea in my opinion. Will look for another. Are VW OEM pumps have the same fiber impeller or do they have a metal impeller? What manufacturers are recommended for the water pump? Rooster

always use HEPU . although the one I just put in my Golf , looked different.
it has a lighter weight impeller and a lighter sprocket not to overtax the bearing

Weren't these people pushing plastic impeller water pumps a while back saying they were better. LOL
There were members who claimed that the plastic impellers had better flow characteristics. As for me, I prefer longevity -- I want a water pump that will last at least as long as the 100k-mile t-belt.

When I need a new t-belt, I just click on the link to Dieselgeek.com and two or three clicks later the order is placed and is always on the way within 12-24 hours. I have my most recent purchase sitting nearby, waiting for another 5k miles or so.

No one has ever regretting getting the Dieselgeek timing belt kit.

I agree . This was the first and last time I bought a timing belt kit from other than Dieselgeek or IDParts .
The impeller separated in 2 pieces way before the pump seized . I had noticed the car warming up faster in winter . Then couple months later I was in NC and the water temp was a tad past the middle but then it settled down. A week later the pump seized
the timing belt on PDs has a a lot of tension by design , the water pump better be robust
