I'm looking for a source for the four fuel lines that attach at the fuel filter. I'd prefer to stick with the molded hoses but cannot find a non-dealer source. The usual vendors don't have them. Any suggestions?

Can you read the part numbers off of them (should be stamped on the hoses). If so, you can order online from here:

You will save about 1/3 or more over what your dealer charges. This is a VW dealer with internet sales.
Calling 1stvwparts.com can get you the part numbers if you can't read them off the lines.

btw i thought those were dates at the end until we had a 34 haha.. the numbers don't bring up much on any parts sites, any luck anyone?
I'm mostly needing the quick release installed on the line - taking the connection off the old line and jamming it into the new one didn't really work, its leaking

According to ETKA, you need PN 1J0130295E labled a set of fuel lines. Same PN for ALH and BEW engines.

if you truly need to replace these fuel lines, just spend $10 and get some fuel hose at napa, autozone, etc. nothing magical about fuel hose....

You can get Gates fuel line at Napa or Oreilly. The one you want is the 5/16 Barricade MPI fuel injection line (part # 27340) rated for all fuels including bio diesel. It's about $4.50 a foot. You'll need 5-6 feet to replace the 4 lines with some to spare. You have to run longer lines to smooth out the bends and not kink them as they are not molded like the $$ originals.
I replaced mine when putting in a CAT 2mic filter. The original fuel lines were starting to crack and dry rot on the outside...probably still would have lasted a very long time, but this was cheap proactive maintenance.

I replaced all my fuel line with the Gates Barricade line. I have most of a roll left over, PM me with how many feet you need and I can send you some

4 year bump for question about OEM vs Viton
Hello fellow members. When I had my ALH Golf I had a TDI guru replace the stock OEM, twisty and kinky fuel lines with straight VITON. These are the lines from firewall to filter and filter to head. They worked normally and I felt a bit better about running biodiesel and longevity.
I have a mechanic doing some minor stuff on the daughter's 2005 BEW. He's not yet listed as a trusted TDI mechanic, but has replaced cam position sensor, fuel temp sensor, and associated hoses, thermostat, etc.
He's concerned about using fuel line that doesn't have those bends and twists.
Is there anything, general or specific, about the BEW lines to warrant his concerns?

They will fit better and cost about 100x more than needed, but you can use the Gates Barricade hose. ~$30 vs. close to $200. $30 wins every time.
There is only one that is weird and most folks just add a loop or it'll kink.
I do like the stock spring clamps, and recommend them over worm screw type.

I used the same for the filter to firewall hoses as well, although not when I took these pics.
Here is a current one that catches both sides of the fuel filter: I did add some larger heater hose (slit so it slides on like wire loom) on the hoses under the intake. I don't know if they were needed or not. But good insurance and easy enough to add.
