Hey ladies and gentlemen! I hpe you all had a fine Thanksgiving.

Got a question about installing a PD 150 TIP on my 00 ALH. I previously installed it using the PD 150 flex pipe to my stock airbox with the help of a silicon bushing at the MAF. It ran fine for a few hundred miles then CEL appeared and started losing power ( low boost, I ran some logs and requested boost was not being achieved under all driving conditions) and smoking. I removed it and replaced the stock TIP and the car ran fine.

I picked up a 2.8 airbox and MAF to make the pipe fit correctly. My question is " should the MAF sensor from my current ( stock ) MAF housing fit in the VR6 housing and possibly give a better result until I get a tune ( I'm hoping from burpod ! ) ?"

i wanted to have all the supporting mods installed ahead of time , SDI cam , hybrid vnt 15/17 and PD 150 intake manifold which I have but need to instal over the next couple weeks. Ultimately I would like to do a tune without MAF but trying to get my ducks in a row.

Anyone have experience with this mod or should I try it with the VR6 MAF. I could experiment a but myself but thought I would check with the hive first .

Thank you for your time ✌

I can tell you one thing, Burpod is in favor of maf delete tuning.
Yes that is why ultimately I'm not too concerned other than in the mean time I would like to drive the car without poor performance and a CEL caused by the stock MAF in combination with the PD 150 TIP.

Tomorrow I will reinstall the PD TIP but with the VR6 air box and MAF to see how the car runs. I still need to install the turbo, PD 150 intake manifold and cam.
