Passat Variant

Looked at the Deutchland VW site. Their Variant just about made me drool. When are they bring that model over? I called my dealer and they gave me the very informative : DON'T KNOW.
A friend of mine who moved to Germany took a picture of his speedometer from his smart phone. He was going 130 MPH and the engine was turning a little past 3200.

There are not even rumors of Passat Wagon being sold in U.S.A. or Canada.

I ran across a comparison with pictures and words describing the differences between the B7 and NMS. The North American one at least for this generation is unique and will remain so since VW built a new plant in Tennessee just for us. VW thinks the NA market is not willing to pay $7k more for the Euro variant. So far, sales number suggests they are correct.

No plans for 4motion or a wagon at this time. like the other poster said this model is unique to north america ....so dont expext to see a wagon for a while if they offer one at all. If they did....give me a base wagon tdi with 6spd manual.

Yes, and built in China too. Their version seems to be quite a bit more expensive than the North American version...and better equiped accordingly.

Chinese NMS is $33,500 to 47,600...when converted to dollars.

Yea, you can say that again. I drove one around the plant on Thursday, xenon LED headlights, nicer rims, rear climate control... just a few of the extra goodies. Depressing that none of those will be offered here

according to this write up you will to get the 2013 Audi variant if you wanted the passat wagon. I hope they are right because I will get the audi over VW anytime of they had a TDI''s in the A4-A6 models. This also means they will be commanding Euro price I would expect 40k or higher. I also like the idea of euro delivery

I think we'll see the features on the Chinese variant show up here as time goes on. It's the perfect way to add features year-on-year and slowly raise the price or simply add value.
