TDI
None at the moment. *sniff*
From the Edmunds review "The TDI is still scarce, thanks to quality problems, and may not survive much longer in the U.S. market."

Are there reliability problems with the Passat TDIs? Can anyone provide any details?

Many of us here have posted that our TDI Passats have been incredibly great cars, with very few problems. My only real problem in 84k miles has been muffler noise (this is common on the '96 Passat TDI). Other problems people have had seem to include:
* dash instrument failures
* relay 109 problems

The last is potentially dangerous but easy to preemptively fix. The dash would be a big drag if it happened. The muffler is probably fixable but annoying. I can't think of any other issues with this car. Biggest problem is there aren't enough of them around.
