So.... Is this a sign that Passat owners need to replace their engines a lot because they break down, or do people want them for other projects?

I could see people wanting to put these in light duty trucks and SUVs. The trouble would be getting a computer to run it with no BS.

There isn't a motor made by any manufacturer that never goes bad and never needs replacement. From what I read from there site there not rebuilt but just tested.I don't need one but did anyone get a price? I would but I don't want to give them my email.

The quote above is for a "tested, used" engine... hmmmm. Guess it's like all merchandising, "let the buyer beware." Could be an OK deal for some folks, I guess. I would not buy any PD engine, but that's my personal bias.

Neither stock photo looks like the engine in our car.

That's a ton of money for a used engine checked or not unless it comes complete with alt pumps ect: but I doubt it does.

Bottom line. I suspect this is a company that buys salvage engines and resells them. Assuming they are legit that is.

They test them to function but for that kind of money I would like to be sure of the miles or hrs on the engine.

There are different 3.0 TDIs. Frans has the one of the T'reg/Q7/Cayenne as well as the one in the A6 and such.
