Anyone know how to activate the one side parking light function? On my mkv jetta it was activated by changing the settings to Germany or great Britain.. from what I remember.

I don't use it often but sometimes I do need it. At least my "omg someone is gonna come around the corner at night and slam into my car" senses need it.

Thanks!

Can't unless you change byte 18, rewire the rear lights, run new wires from BCM and recode on of the hidden bits. Plus it'll break the DRL function. Search for my headlight DIY that is in the thread with the LED strip headlights. It is explained in detail there. Plus it doesn't appear to be reversible.

Really?! That complicated just for the parking lights to remain on, on the side the turn signal lever is turned to while the car is parked?

I tried to search for your diy but couldn't find anything. (I'm on the dreaded tapatalk)

YEP! No one has found a better way that I'm aware of, and it was quite by accident that it is now working. Here is the DIY - enjoy: Lighting DIY

Well thank you for the information Mr.norm. I find it interesting that vw has made it so complicated. Anyway, I guess that's an option I don't need anymore lol

In Node 20 of the Long Code Helper in Central Electronics I found something about the park/shift interlock and the start-up message of "Press Clutch to Start". I unchecked it but still get the Press Clutch message. Oh well!

Besides that I'm getting everything else dialed-in to my preferences. Thanks to all who have posted in this thread.

"ATA confirm" problem fixed

I disabled the ATA confirm in the MFI in my old 2010 JSW, and it worked. I always hated honking at the neighborhood, or at my wife's workplace (a hospital:eek:), or at my work-which is a school and parking lot is by classrooms.
I can hear the locks click anyway, so I don't need it. Just noise pollution to me.

But on my 2013 Passat, the darned thing "re-actives" after disabling in the MFI. Well, it always stays quiet the first time I lock it after disabling, but would somehow reset without any apparent reason. Really weird.

The fix:
VCDS Enter the Cent. Elec module, select adaptation, and select "Audible Locking Confirm" from the list. Ah, there it is...Reset from 1 to 0, and it is permanently disabled. I think.

Why the MFI doesn't do this is a mystery.

Now, DOES ANYONE with 2013 Passat know where to switch 3 flashes to 5 flashes (lane change)? I see the Lane change module in the convenience (module/group), but VCDS finds no module there in the Lane Change module in my 2013. ANYONE been able to to do this-should there be a Lane Change module or is it somewhere else?

In the 09 Comfort Module,
09 central elec,
select ADAPTATION, then from the pull down menu select "Comfort Turn Signals (cycles)" this is channel 31, then adjust the number of blinks and save.

Without getting flamed for not searching... can these mods be done with a generic USB to OBDII cable and VCDS-Lite?

I had the same problem with my ATA coming back from the dead and found that is was the other remote, the settings are keyed to the remote that is used to open the door, so make sure to use both remotes to disable ATA.

Any one successfully installed the Euro Chirp Siren on their 2012+ Passat yet ?

Found a number of threads with this DIY sucessfully done on their MK6s and Jettas.

However on my vehicle - 2013 Passat TDI SE w/SR and NAV. the retrofit did not work. Installed the Siren (P/N - 1KO951605C) on Pin T36 (LIN BUS)

Changed the Long coding for the 09 Central Controller module appropriately. But no matter what, the Siren never seems to be working. Just the regular Horn responds for acoustic lock and unlock confirmations.

The weird thing is, the controller screen does shows up the siren listed as the sub part (along with RLS) but seems to be inactive.

If anyone successfully attempted this retrofit/install. Please share your experience.

I was able to disable it permanently using VCDS. I did nothing with the remotes. I am not sure what you mean about using both remotes to disable ATA. They both lock the doors with no aubible confirmation now. Both remotes were sitting there in the car when I made the change... I don't know if any change is made to the remote. I would have guessed it changes what the car does in response to the remote when pressing door lock button, not change the remote.
The fix:
VCDS Enter the Cent. Elec module, select adaptation, and select "Audible Locking Confirm" from the list. Reset from 1 to 0. test, save, done. For some reason, the disable option in the MFI is not permanent, at least in our 2013 Passat.

So if one of the remotes was out of range, are you saying that one would NOT be fixed? I am not going to change it back and test this theory ;)

so i was able to do some of the features from the first page on my 2014 sel.

1. No RLS drop down (yes i know it was stated before)
2. these options are on mine, what happens if i check boxes for it without doing step 1?
3. worked, controls all windows and tilts sunroof open
4. voice nav works, just have to use * button every time

anyone know answer to my question in step 2? i did not see it addressed in here.

MFI settings (including ATA confirm) are stored per key. In other words, one key can have ATA turned on while the other has it turned off. Settings are recalled based on which key unlocks the car. To disable it on both keys, you need to unlock the car with one key, edit the settings, lock, then unlock with the other key and edit the settings.

This is nice because each driver can have his/her own preferences stored, including the way mirror adjustments behave, the way door locking behaves, footwell light brightness, ATA confirm, speed warnings, and much more.

Obviously, if you disable ATA confirm in VCDS, the change is global to all keys.

Removing data entry speed warning Nav/phone

So I finally found the key to disable the "warning data entry while moving" or whatever it said.

Go to navigation
-Long coding
--Byte 7, bit 2
---(check the box) speed threshold for destination input active
-----do it
-adaption
-- from drop down menu
---maximum vehicle speed for destination entry
---- I set mine to 180kph
-----do it

No more warnings for phone or nav use while moving :D

I haven't been following this thread very closely, but just reviewed the past 7-8 pages.

I don't know if anyone has posted this, but I discovered my 2014 has the capability of remote window/sunroof open/close. I enabled it using my VCDS.

maybe not posted in this thread, but elsewhere. There was some debate if installing a MY14 BCM would enable remote windows in earlier cars. I also wonder what could be lost with different firmware.

I was poking around today and in the HVAC module, I could something regarding the air circulation. The options were Normal, Permanent, and I can't remember the other one. Does anyone know what these do? Mine was defaulted to permanent...

I assume he means the VW approach to the security side of their Remote Start equipped cars.

Has anyone figured out the remote start problem yet?

What problem?

If you mean the engine shutting off when you unlock the door, that is intentional (not a problem) and also something that can't be changed.

Unlocking All 4 Doors

Is there a way to have all 4 doors unlock when pulling the drivers side door handle out ( Keyfob in pocket ). I have a 2012 Passat TDI SEL with push button start, keyless entry.

Currently when I pull the door handle out, only the drivers & passengers doors unlock, the rear doors stay locked. I have done many of the mods talked about in this thread, but can't seem to find the above in Vagcom. I also have no option in the MFD for door locking or unlocking. Thanks much.

There is but you don't need VCDS to do it. Can't recall exactly how, but it's one of the selections you can making in your settings. It's in the manual.
