Parting out feeler 2000 jetta

Ive been sitting on my 2000 Jetta TDI for almost a year now in its current state. Fourth gear stopped engaging and I have no idea why. It used to try to shift out of third but would feel like it was neutral, then go into second then back to third. After a couple days it stopped trying and just stayed in third. I dont have the money to fix, and not sure if I can fix and sell to get some money back out of it anyway.

Im looking at parting it out if theres interest that can make it worth it. The auto trans is crapped but lots of good stuff on it.

Roughly 378,000 km's on the engine and slightly more on the body. Engine ran fine and got 53mpg (canadian) on the highway. TB still has 80,000 km's left on it and was done by Steel Brothers here in manitoba.

Exterior is black. Drivers door got kicked by a guy in traffic so its got a weird crease and a scratch on the glass. Right fender has a dent and some surface rust on the body bellow the door where the paint came off. Rest of the body is just fine.

Interior is all black with leather seats. Drivers seat heat works sporaticly, passengers seat works just fine. Dash cupholder is the upgraded style that was in a 2001. Arm rest hinge and latch both intact.

Car is stock, no mods. Want to know if anyone is interested in anything for a reasonable price. Everything is up for sale if a good price can be had.

I would be interested in the door handles if they are in good shape and not scratched up, also the gear ship jacket. Let me know if these items are available and how much. Are you going to post pics of the car so we can view the condition of everything?

Have the engine plastic side skirts/Covers and hardware? Are they in good shape? Let me know your what your looking to get for them.

BoiseTDI, not sure what a gear ship jacket is. Which handles do you want?

The orirginal plastic skid plate was removed a couple years before I bought it and replaced with a homemade piece of crap. Nothing left of it.

I do have some pics that I can post tomorrow if I can remember how.

Not sure on price for mirrors. Left side has relatively new mirror in it, but I think I spray bombed the right side (from silver to black) and had a cracked mirror.

derrtydozen, the lock works in the sence that power locks and unlocks the door, but it does not register that the door has been opened. Theres a fix for that somewhere on here for that.

Kraiger, which wirring harness? As in the whole engine bay harness or a particular part?

Whats a good company for shipping from canada to the US? Ive never done any cross border shipping and not sure where to get quotes from

Im not sure but i think fedex is pretty good. And on wire harness i need the interior side. Or if you want to cut it i really just need the obd2 port with 4-5in. Of wire as a pig tail.

Im using the Canada Post website for shipping prices. Plus easier for me to get to a local post office rather than fed ex or UPS. Shipping is about $18.

I can get you the pig tail easy, but it might be easier and cheaper to go to a wrecker close to you and chop one off. Can take it out of any OBD2 equipped car.

I have a guy looking at buying the whole car. If it doesnt go ahead in the next few days (which is likely) then the part out officially starts.

Not sure what the front lip is in this case. Is it bellow the front bumper?

Yeah, didn't get the bottom lip when i bought my jetta front end.

If you are parting it out, I'd be interested in picking up the parts for a 5sp conversion (less the tranny). I'm assuming here that yours is a 5sp, hard to tell for sure from the initial description. Parts would be: brake/clutch pedal cluster, clutch master & slave cyls and lines, drive shafts, Shifter mechanism and cables/clips, Clutch & pressure plate, starter. (I think that's it).

It's alot to pull and box up, but let m e know if you are interested is selling it.

That *may* be a simple fix which would be the tightening of a 13mm nut on the tranny linkage

Its an auto slushbox. Had the serp belt snap while driving and it took the idler pully with it. After replacing the 2 items it stopped shifting propper. Possibly coincidental since I cant see why it would have caused the trans to malfunction.
