• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

Hey folks. I helped prove recently that, in fact, 2 objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Thanks Einstein. Jerk.

So.. I'll be parting out my Jetta..

The body has 245k. It was a front end accident so some parts are available.. some aren't.

1) No egregiously high offers will be refused.
2) The motor and REQUIRED parts are not for sale. But see rule #1.
3) I will base all shipping as though you are in area code 90210.
4) Feel free to ask if I have a part. I am not going to list everything on the car.

Here are the highlights:

I got my hands on a 2002 GTI VR6 when this car had 180k on it and the GTI had 77k. I swapped over the following parts:

Trans output hubs.

Axles

Front brake assemblies. So if you buy the calipers you'll get the mounting hardware too.

Rotors are available separately. I have 2 sets. The current set is from EBC, as are the pads. Red Stuff pads. The current rotors might have a tiny lip as they are about 20k miles old. The other set of rotors has a ton of meat left but they do need to be turned as they are rusty as hell from sitting around.

Struts are Bilstein TC (black body) with the GTI Vr6 springs, I can get you the color code if you need. Shocks have approximately 40k on them

Shocks bilstein TC also. Put on at the same time.

Rear springs are also from the same GTI.

If you want the airbags, they didn't deploy. Imagine my delight as the seat belt allowed me to hit the steering wheel! :) I don't blame the bags. The car was previously hit and I suspect a shady repair.

The driver side headlight is an e-code. The passenger side is "assorted roadside debris".

The car was otherwise full power, and everything worked so if you want switches or something.

Interior is black upper/gray lower. Gray headliner, black carpet. Seats are GTI leather but are spoken for.

4 spoke steering wheel with controls, and as mentioned a non-blown airbag.

rear bumper has a small hole in it because I couldn't be bothered to move a trailer one day.

I have a couple sets of wheels. the VR6 GTI alloys. They have studded snows on them. And a set of flat black (spray paint) Wolfsburg wheels with about 30k on the tires. I am up in the air on selling the wheels just yet as there is a tiny chance there is another dub in the works.

Trans is a 5 speed but it is likely spoken for.

On the motor: In the event that someone wants to make me a crazy offer that I can't possibly refuse. It has 245k on it. I checked the cylinder pressures at 200k looking for an oil leak. Low pressure was 390, high was 410. The oil leak was the turbo. So the current turbo is a 17/22, 3 bar, and using a Kerma Q-loader and tunes to support it. Injectors are the Kerma DLC 1019s. I think they are 1019s.. I can double check. With an 11mm pump and was 100% rebuilt by DFIC (because the kid who sold me the pump was a scumbag liar, but that's a different story). Timing belt is 40k old.

As I said, I am not inclined to sell the motor, but if someone wants to offer me a silly amount of money for it and it's related bits and pieces, I do need to buy a new car. ;)

The car is silver and the body is all good minus the hood, front bumper and passenger fender.

The quality of the interior is "pretty good".

I can send pictures of whatever you may car to have a look at.

Is the downpipe considered to be in the 'required engine parts' category? Is it in good shape? I'm in Boston and could pick it up this weekend.

Thanks!

Eudaemonic: Nope, not a required part. I ASSUME it's in perfectly fine condition. But I'll take a look see and shoot you a PM.

Always looking for small 'gingerbread' items. Current list is:
side mirror glass, either or both, if heaters work
rear ashtray clamshell
front ashtray holder (the part around the red ashtray insert)
Steering wheel, if the cover isn't crumbling and no teeth are embedded
front pass airbag cover
Engine top cover
Battery front cover
Battery top cover
Jetta headlight bulb access covers, one high and one left low
Will consider the studded snows

If you need to ship to CA and then back to central MA let me know in advance,
Or I could extract these bits and pieces this weekend to save you the time and effort.

PM or e-mail will work.

Lugnut: In your case, I am 100% confident I can deliver for free. Or at least meet you somewhere if you don't care to come to the junkyard I call a home. I'm in Templeton. I'd bet solid money we pass each other commuting rather often.

As to your parts list.
Side glass.. good and heaters work - but to be confident they didn't die I'll put an thermometer on them.
Ash tray pieces are good to go.
Steering wheel does NOT have any teeth in it and isn't crumbling. It's getting worn in the common spots, but I think a little leather dye would solve that problem if you are worried.
Pass airbag cover is also good to go. I'll ASSUME that it is removeable? Or is it the whole dash? I have never looked.
I think I have the engine cover. I took it off about 200k ago. ;)
I doubt I have either battery cover. I know I have broken them repeatedly on every VW I have ever touched.

The passenger headlight parts, I may be able to help out, but you'll have to be more specific. The passenger side is mostly on Rt2 in Acton and some in shopvac. But I have a spare set of headlights that may have what you need.

The snows have a season or 2 left on them. I'll get you a picture. It's really the wheels that are of value there. Though I planned to run the snows this year and somewhat expected to run them next year too.

More items about which to inquire:
Lower intercooler hose (to fit between stock plastic pankake pipe and my VNT17's hose adapter)
front rotors

Lug_nut.. I don't have your # ! :)

I will check on the lower hose. It may be good.. may not be. The intercooler was dislodged from it's mounts and the upper hose was smashed. On the rotors. I have 2 sets, and they are from a Vr6 GTI. I MAY have a set of stock rotors floating around too.

Won't the time and shipping costs from MA to CA make the used light assembly more than a locally sourced used one?

flat rate shipping is pretty cheap USPS and we have no local source. Our wrecking yards (all 2 of them) only have mk3's...
