When I got these codes showing up last summer I threw in the towel and put in a Kerma tune. All the exhaust and adblue systems are still in place. Have not had any codes at all since then, about 9,000 miles of trouble free driving with big increase in MPGs. You can continue to try to troubleshoot, replace parts etc. and possibly fix it - or tune it.

In my car, I did not replace or touch anything with respect to the entire car, other than tune it when these "no start" messages started to appear.
I only got the engine tune. DSG transmission is stock, not tune there. Kerma offers that too but I elected to not buy it. My car had about 54,000 miles on it at the time.

With Kerma, you leave all the hardware intact. Its a software tune only. If you ever want to sell the car the straight pipe/delete might turn off buyers and be illegal if the purchaser lives in a state requiring inspections. I suggest going Kerma.

So do these soft tunes stop the emissions from operating ? Or do they just make them work better?

KermaTDI takes a systems analysis approach to tuning, rather than follow conventional wisdom or percentages, we look for possible gains in every aspect of the given hardware set and engineer your tune based on the respective capacities of each piece of hardware on your TDI.
In return you get a custom file that is specific to your vehicles performance and reliability.
Highlights on this tune:
+41whp and +72lb-ft

- regens like stock
- passive regens are correct
- - we have seen up to 10 percent increase in fuel economy on longer excursions (your mileage may vary)
- throttle delay seems to be gone (no more turbo lag)
- will throw you into your seat- very easy to drive but the power is there if you need it
- Tuning and support is all done in house
- Dyno Proven (Stock Dyno Pull and Tuned Dyno for a correct reading of +WHP and +WTQ)
- Easily the most refined and powerful tune on the market guaranteed!

It makes your car drive like it was before "dieselgate" fix or maybe even better. Dieselgate tune made it hard to enjoy. Now, I can easily spin the front wheels going from dead stop at the traffic light. Not trying to be cocky, just trying to enjoy the acceleration and the wheels spin for a split second. LOL. So you learn to take it easy.

No issues with stupid NOx errors - there is nothing wrong with NOx - just a faulty dieselgate tune that VW is not interested in fixing. Just check how many have the same error with count down and dealer cannot fix after doing the usual parts cannon. So Kerma is what I have, all emissions systems are operational, car will pass all emissions (if you are in an emissions state). We are in the free country here, no annual inspections and no emissions inspection, but I didn't want to be a redneck with a plume of smoke behind my car. Going barefoot everywhere and not owning any shoes is enough redneck-ness for my taste. LOL.
