I installed my Dieselgeek Code P2015 bracket this afternoon. Took about 1-1/2 Hours, but I'm methodical and was in no hurry. Textbook install, everything squared up and spring properly in place. I had a hard time pressing the connecting arm socket onto the ball on the motor, but I eventually got it and it moves freely. YouTube video was great.

However, my CEL is still lit. I made a quick drive around the neighborhood, starting and shutting down the motor four times. Perhaps the drive cycles need to be longer?
Can you show us some pics of the install? Try to get a shot similar to the one in post #49 by Jim and we also want to see the front of the bracket showing that it is flush with the edge of the small plate, and flush with the edge of the motor arm.

I took one picture of the motor just prior to re-installing it:

http://blg.nikonsrc.com/image/NYEan...zSB1Gs24wmtoKug6n4_vWgJX930eKw/item.JPG?rot=1

and one of it in place:

The long (factory) bolt that holds the Dieselgeek bracket and motor in place (the bottom bolt in first photo) didn't easily slide through the bracket and motor, almost like the bracket hole and the motor hole weren't quite aligned perfectly. The other two bolts were much easier to turn in.

I hope I don't have to do this work again. If the MIL doesn't clear, I'm not sure what I could have done wrong. Maybe I need to slightly loosen the short Dieselgeek mounting bolt and fine tune the bracket's position so that the long bolt slides more freely? Maybe the wife will bring good news on the MIL tonight when she arrives home.

Thanks everyone!

Hm

I made my own bracket, and eyeballed diesel geeks photo before spot welding.

Worked out perfect.

Good luck.

Update and success! Wife arrived home tonight and reported that the MIL went dark on her morning commute. Chalk up another win for Dieselgeek.

Finally after 1 visit to change intake manifold, 1 visit for them to "clear the code". 1 more visit to confirm it was more than just an intake, and 1 more visit to get the whole damn harness replaced. code has been gone for 2 days. Can't believe they had to remove the whole engine harness, they took off so many parts and had the car for a week... It better not cause other issues with that job.

I was working with Jim for a couple weeks beforehand, putting on the bracket on and off, changing out an exchange flapper motor with a confirmed good voltage number /DG bracket and still getting the fault. So it wasn't an intake butterfly or the arm having too much play.

I'll try to get a copy of my work order up

P2015 Simple fix for $64

First, LOVE tdiclub.com!
Second, LOVE the support the community has through excellent people!
Third, DieselGeek.com has a $64 fix that took me about 5 minutes. Their website has the part and a video that most people that aren't mechanically inclined could still accomplish in about 8-10 minutes.
Hint: Yes, tighten the spring end. YES, USE the tools they use. My install was quicker than their video by 80%. Use the locking forceps in the same place shown during the removal...for the install. It will save you frustration.

Thank you TDIClub.com
Thank you DieselGeek.com

No CEL and now I will install on my second TDI as preventative medicine. :D

Hello all. On the first post on the second picture there is one spring. My spring is missing and the car is trowing P2015 code. Can you give me some dimensions about spring size and diameter?

Just installed my DieselGeek bracket. Took 30 minutes from opening hood to closing it at a very casual pace. CEL turned off after starting engine 3rd time. Pretty spiffy I must say.

Hello. I need some help.
After installing the dieselgeek repair bracket the P2015 error still appears. After doing some test with the car ,i notice that the Intake Flap Motor (V157) don't move at all. After doing some research on the forum and found this tread. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=381933
After doing the multimeter test i found 5v missing between wire 2-3 On v157 connector. All other voltages are here: between 1-3 the 5V is ok. between 4-5 -4.35v is ok again. But no voltage between 2-3.
Can you check your car for voltage between connector 2and3 ,and tell me is there 5v with the ignition on?
Any help will be useful.

If you are doing a output test with VCDS and the motor isn't working I'm going to say start looking at possibly sourcing a replacement motor, I think Jim may have a few for sale.

I think the motor is controlled by PWM, so what your meter saw as 5v might have been actually a 40% give or take duty cycle, your meter isn't fast enough to capture the step waveform. If you can read frequency try that and you should see something like 1khz or something.

Also the other pinouts from the connector will be a reading from the encoder in the motor which give the ECU the position of the motor, so with it unpluged you'd be looking at the ECU and who knows that that voltage would be floating around at.

Try and trace the loom out for any fraying.

Also when starting and shutting off the motor cycles, so you may need to watch for voltage during those times.

Just curious, the MIL check light is still on for about 2 weeks now...

For the first and only time the DPF light came on this morning and went out right after a highway run (20 minutes > 2000 RPM)

Will this P2015 Intake Manifold which triggers the MIL prevent DPF regens ?

Ordered! Thanks DG, hope to get it installed STAT once it arrives.

Trekked to the Stealership last week... Knew fully what the code was and had my fingers crossed that they would honor the extended warranty I heave heard often applied south of the line - NOT A FREAKING CHANCE.

"Well we scanned your car and got a P2015 code (Yup, that's why I'm here and knew that already)" They started listing out parts and just before he got to $2000 before labor I stopped him and asked about warranty coverage... "No sir, your car is only covered for the exhaust flapper valve"

Installed this on saturday. I was baffled as to how to install the thing before I realized I had to rotate the bracket 90 degrees. I felt pretty stupid for a second. haha.
I cleared the code with the Torque app and my CEL hasn't lit up yet but I only drove about 90 miles. Before the part install, other attempts to just clear the code would only last for about 60 miles. I think this did the trick

I installed it on my car a month ago as a result of P2015 code. Since the installation, the code never showed up again. Easy and cost effective fix. But in the installation process, I dropped the spring and spent an hour looking for it--even with removing all of air filter assembly-- I still could not find this tiny spring. So it's installed without spring but seems to be working flawlessly so far.

Where can I find a new little plastic arm? Mines so worn out it keeps jumping off the arm.

I tried pins and washers, but it's still so worn it goes out of square and binds.

That little electric motor actually has some grunt

Hey Jason, have you installed our repair bracket? Is the plastic linkage arm coming off of the big plastic motor arm ball or the little ball back on the metal crank arm? We can fix you up, either way.

I made my own bracket.

Where can I find a new or better used plastic arm?

I get a CEL every few days during start up. It may occur during shutdown, but may not show up until after the car starts; I am not really sure. It goes away then comes back every once in a while.

Is this a symptom of the P2015?

I have no issues with performance because of this, and the car stops and starts fine.

Without a vcds or OBD11 scan it's really hard to say.

You can get your car scanned for free at Autozone. There may be other chains that do it as well. You might call around if you do not have an autozone near by.

the p2015 code does not typically go away and come back. that is seen with glow plug or exhaust pressure valve a lot. get the fault code read and see.

I'll get it scanned. My guy does it for free anyway.

I had the EPV replaced under warranty a couple of months ago.

Still on original battery...not enough juice for the GPs?. I'll get it scanned today...

I did the DieselGeek part install to my sisters Jetta and it worked and the next day the CEL went out. Took about 20 minutes to fix. Very straightforward.
