Got the code and ordered from Dieselgeek the repair kit from them. I should get in next 2 weeks or less I hope. $64.00 part by the time I get should be some where around $ 120.00 but worth it compared to $400 up here for a new motor plus Labour. One can not buy the motor alone as it comes with a new intake manifold. One more of VW'S better ideas for a car. Another way to ripe us off. Install only the new motor and throw the intake in the junk pile. Get the repair kit and install on your car before the code shows up because sooner or later it will.

I see I am getting lots of really intelligent responses from you all. I didn't realize there was so many intelligent fellow Canadians out here. Thank-you for the response.

No one has any clue what you're even talking about.

Explain it clear and concisely next time.

I guess I do bring out the people who speak before they think or rather post a response like some. All one had to do was to ask nicely and I or someone out here I am sure would have explained what I was talking about. One could have looked up dieselgeek like I said or goggle it. Maybe I did not give enough info on it. I didn't realize it took that much to figure it out.

As soon as you goggle the code dieselgeek pretty much shows wright up. I thought was great because after reading about the code on his site phoned and order one.
Hundreds of dollars cheaper then a new part from VW

The bracket clears some 5 codes or more, in the case of my car it appears. It is not for all TDI's. Jim at dieselgeek makes a lot of great products. Paula who answer's the phone is very good at her job and takes the time so you are happy and all is wright. One would have to check his site.

It really wasn't that hard to figure out I thought. I thought everyone knew how to find/ research a code. What can I say next time I will give more details. I thought as what I have read out here over the years sometimes we have to do a little research to undersand what one is talking about or if one just asks one nicely they get an answer back. I have done research to hopefully help myself understand better what one is talking about out here from time to time. In the future I will give more details as to what I am talking/mumbling about. One person knew what I was talking about out of some 7 people. Not good odds it seems eh. Live and learn on my part.

I thought this site was for if one had a problem they can pass it on to help others but at the same time if one is having a problem they can come out here and people will help them figure out their problem, be it with there car or help them in their choice in a engine oil or what have you. The site was to help people, not insult one about their spelling or the way they write something or what have you, which seems to be what some people only come out here for, to nit pick. My 2 cents, worth.

This site is probably one of the most helpful sites I visit. Still, if you need help, we need to know the background into your problem.

Is "what have you" your favorite phrase?

What have you, is not my favorite phrase. Some 3 or so posts before I see the same phrase I believe, must be their favorite too eh. My favorite phrase I can not use out here. I have more then one but can not use them out here, which is good because you would not like them, or anyone else for that matter.

I didn't think I would get all the negative feedback that I am getting from this post. Sure a lot of negative people out here. The only one who is positive it seems and with positive feed back is jetlagmech.

FX - if you want people to help or participate in your thread, then you need to make it easy for them to do so.

Posting some rambling text and then expecting all the readers to do research in order to decipher what you're talking about is an unreasonable expectation.

Provide enough material to put your post in context and make it easy for people to help you - and they will. Complain about people and blaming them not doing research to understand what you've written, and you'll get negative feedback.

It's that simple.

And while I didn't understand your post, the cryptic nature of your post was unusual. Not all of us have the same year vehicle as yours, and are not familiar with the particular problems and codes associated with specific years of tdi,s.

Yet, many of of have lots of skills and are willing to help. Personally, I am always willing to help, but only when asked a question. If I have to use google to figure out the question is, the chances are I would not bother. Sorry if you considered my post that negative. Good luck with your car.

You've ever posted on other car forums before or is this your first one?

Wow(face palm). Here's an attempt at diplomacy. I think FXDL gets it now. Lets lay off with the condescending comments before we lose a member. Perhaps find a more gentle way to express our concerns? Some of us have managed to do this while others are still jabbing away.
FXDL thanks for bringing this code matter to our attention in your own way. It appears that you understand the interpretive short-comings embedded in your presentation. Time to smile and what-have-you...
Waddya think folks? Any future in politics for me lol?

For what it is worth got a card from our post office yesterday Aug 18th stating to pick up an item tomorrow which is now today after 1 pm. Must be the dieselgeek repair kit for the code I am getting, as I am not expecting anything else. That was fast as I only ordered it Friday past the 14th, 4 days only to get here. 5 if we count today too.

you may find it a little tough to set in place without removing the actuator. hope you have little hands. I installed mine and a friends without removing, but the first one I set in place and removed several time to be sure I had it installed correctly. And.....I have little hands. good luck.

I was going to stop by my mechanic I use so he could see it, as he was interested in seeing it. Will remove the actuator and do it. On the dieselgeek site has to be removed. I would think so one knows for sure in wright place. Will see later this afternoon how it goes. It is a very well made item from dieselgeek and only took 4 days to get here, as post office here tried to deliver Tuesday but no one home to receive. Great service from all at dieselgeek.

Why are you advertising manufacturer so much (3 time sin one post)? Did they give you a discount for plugging them?
