2010 VW Jetta CJAA TDI throwing both codes. Removed EGR and cleaned. Opened cover to verify valve opens smoothly by turning the gears. Ran output test on VCDS to find out valve only opens a tiny bit. Carefully tested it with 12v and it works 100%. Seen another thread where someone had this happen on an Audi with no answer. He had the same results with a new EGR. Any suggestions?

I’m in the exact same boat, and need to get past emissions this month before I hit the magic pothole.

I cleaned my EGR valve as well but don’t have the capacity to test via VCDS.

I bought a diesel cleaner off Amazon that was well-reviewed by other TDi drivers. Will let you know…

I should add my DPF light comes on momentarily when I start the car and goes off after driving a very very short distance. No DPF-related codes….

if the valve is confirmed to work on the bench, and you see it not open much at all when testing in car with output tests like you say, then i would be inclined to think there is a issue with the wiring to that EGR valve connector

hookup a multimeter to the EGR valve electrical connector and make sure it's getting juice, then make sure there is a signal coming through
