Today I was driving on a country road and the car started to lose power, the car went into "limp mode", the car has gone into "limp mode" in the past so I recognized the feeling. The glow plug light illuminated and I saw an "engine fault workshop" in the display. Next. the check engine light illuminated and the oil can symbol illuminated and the "engine oil pressure too low" was in the display. I think it also said something about stopping the car and reading the manual. I stopped and checked the oil level, fine, so I drove about 10 more miles to a town and had the car towed home. The car starts and idles but seems to be running very rough at idle. I ran my scanner when home, P0299.

The turbo was replaced under warranty on 5/14/2009, 178,379 miles. The car now has 207,797 miles. My VW warranty expired on 8/31/21 or 210,156 miles.

Suggestions?

First guess would be a big pipe is loose/misfit. Put it up, remove lower engine cover, inspect. You might try the model specific forum for further diagnosis.

What car do you have? Have you checked the oil pressure with an oil pressure gauge?
