Kid called me on Friday night last week when our 2011 TDI Sportwagen died on him and wouldn't restart. Pulled codes with my phone and generic OBD reader when I picked him up and saw P0130, P2102 (pending), P0087 (pending) and P0090 (pending).
Had the car towed home fearing the worst (guess what comes up when you search P0087 & P0090!), pulled the fuel filter and didn't see anything obvious in the filter body (clean, clear greenish fluid which I assume is diesel, I've never paid attention to what it looks like, but definitely not gasoline), possibly a few light sparkly bits on the filter.
Next day I pulled the valve on the HPFP and found nothing but clean fluid in the bottom of the machined port. Breathed a big sigh of relief and have had to leave it due to too many other things going on the last couple of days. I am second guessing that I should have looked closer at the filter screen on the body of the valve, so I'll pull it a second time to have a look again but with how clean the cavity was not sure I'll find anything (especially when compared to the photos I've seen online).
What is my next step? I haven't had a chance to plug in with my old laptop and VCDS, what tests should I run with it, or is this a more basic diagnostic process?
As mentioned above, 2011 TDI Sportwagen (they are branded as Golfs up here in Canada), ~400 000 km (240k miles), delete pipe and tune installed last January. I think I've reset the P0130 in the past (I have an O2 sensor in my Amazon cart since the last time it came up), I don't recognize the P2102. Car seems to run good the few times I've driven it in the last year but I don't actually drive it much anymore.
Thanks.
