2010 Golf TDI!
It has been such fun reading this forum, then buying a new Golf TDI. I must say I have never anticipated a new car this much, and after picking it up today I am even more excited about our choice than before.:)

We got it from a local Cleveland area dealer, their first one. They were great, able to change their order to our choices and it showed up a month before they thought it would.

The one feature I haven't seen mentioned on the forum yet concerns the fog lamps. When xenons are on and fogs off, and you make a turn the fog light on that side comes on giving a little more illumination. My sales lady was very excited about it.

Blue graphite metallic, DSG, cold weather, Bi-xenons, low bluetooth.

Here are some pics.

Very, very nice.

Very, very envious. ;)

Just out of curiosity, when did you place your order?

Don't forget that in addition to your $1300 tax credit, you can also deduct your state sales tax on a new vehicle purchase this year.

Here is ours :) basically the twin. well canadian twin :)

we don't get 17's wheels, we don't get HID's. We do get the engine block heater and leather seats. we also get the 16's instead of 17's.

Fog light on while turning option is available with the basic headlights aswell.

O.K., I'm more envious of the Canucks now....I think tires should have rubber on them, and haven't been keen on the forced 17" wheels down here.

Make that a $1700 tax credit for the DSG!!

Congrats on the new ride. I've been driving mine for over two weeks, and I love it.

I placed the order on 9-21-09. Leather would have been nice, dog hair is easier to remove, but the cloth material is much better than most. Also very impressed with how well the DSG works, very smooth shifts both in Drive and with the paddles.

Very nice! Looks just like mine. I don't have the DSG or HIDs though, but I like my manual!

Congrats!

Golf TDI soon
Rock on with ya bad self. Give us an update in a coupple of weeks on how you like it, mileage, break in status, etc. Love the color/4 door combo.

Question on that - if I special order a Golf TDI today, put $500 down and it arrives in February or whatever, how does that work for tax purposes? Is that a 2009 purchase that gets the $1300 credit (manual) or is that a 2010 purchase with no $1300 since 99% is paid in 2010...

You get the $1300 until then end of 2010 or VW sells over 60,000 TDI's. I think the estimates I have seen on the forums guess that you will likely get the full $1300 until mid to late 2010. Then the amount goes down as sales go up. As a separate item. You will not be able to claim a tax deduction on the sales tax you pay on the car unless it is purchased before the end of 2009. This is part of the economic recovery act. I found only a few dealers who even knew about it. Even my accountant didn't know about it until I caller her to ask. Might need a new accountant if I have to find the deductions. See all the great stuff you learn on these forums.

I just got my first fill up so i thought I would give an update on our new Golf TDI. I like everything about it. The torque is incredible, it really feels like it has mad power. I know the 0-60 isn't spectacular but it sure feels like it. The DSG is sooooo smooth, whether using the paddles or just letting it do it's thing. The seats are very comfortable and supportive, and I really like the cloth material. Definitely better than most other companies offerings, as are all the interior materials. My first experience with Xenon lights and they work great, especially in the country with no street lights like where I live. It handles corners like a champ, although I'm no Tony Stewart. Nice firm ride, much firmer than the sedan I test drove. The 510 radio has a nice interface and my cell links up to the bluetooth flawlessly. This car just loves to cruise, my favorite is when I'm on a 2 laner and want to pass somebody. Hit it, turbo kicks in, and I'm past them in a jiffy. In short I like this car even better than I hoped to. New convert K2Curt.
