Just discovered that the Chevy Equinox will get a diesel. Chevy already has the Colorado and Cruze.
Mazda is bringing the CX5,

Who else.

New Frontier by Nissan may have 2.8L diesel in 2018.
GM 1/2 ton trucks may have diesel when they are redesigned.

Mazda says it wants to bring the CX-5 diesel. Let's put it at that for now.

In terms of non-luxury cars, GM, in my view, has a better record of delivering at least one model of diesel non-truck vehicle so far.

The rest of the light duty diesel offerings will be at least $40K (probably higher). Even the Mazda CX-5 (if offered in diesel version) will be more in the upper $30K range most likely :(

Ford has talked about bringing back the Ranger with a 4 cylinder diesel. Already available in other markets. Haven't heard a lot about it lately, however.

Subaru makes a diesel impreza that is awd that I really wish they would sell here in the states. Its basically my ideal car. You can import the 2.0 L EE20 H4-T (diesel) for an affordable 10k lol. I want to put one in a 2005 forester, but can't justify a 15-20k forester when I can tdi swap a jeep Cherokee for half the price and the same result.

If you have a wagon diesel, hang on to it as it will give you the best cargo to efficiency ratio for some time.

Any passenger vehicle that runs on diesel, averages at least 35 MPG, and has a cargo capacity of at least 35 cubic feet will be extremely hard to find from now on in my opinion.

I drove a Jaguar XE AWD with their 20d diesel last Friday. Nice car, engine is responsive, felt pretty quick. If I were shopping for a small(ish) sedan I'd give it consideration as long as I was willing to keep it forever as it'll probably depreciate like crazy.

Similar vehicle the bmw 328d is also a nice one that is awd and comes in a wagon. I see a lot of 2014 ones for sale at about 20-30k.

I drove the Jag for Blog research and out of curiosity. Honestly I like my '11 335d better.

And with the Rocketchip Stage 2 tune it has a claimed 330 HP/505 torque. Lots quicker than the Jag. Smoother too, and a lot less than $20K. The Jag I drove stickered at $46K, btw.
