Thats what I was thinking and rental cars aint cheap especially when im paying in CAD lol
and with me being younger than 25.... my rental rates are not great. they basically 2x the listing price because im a young driver.
as someone with 200k+ miles under my belt, and only a single not at fault accident from 5 years ago now, AND no speeding tickets, i feel i dont fit the stereotype / statistic / demographic rental + insurance companies fit me into...

thats a rant for another day lol

I forgot about the insurance as well. Going for 9 days as well so I could only imagine the costs for that. Who knows if they will hit me with a fee for being from out of country. lol

Yes the app works without being connected to a Valentine One detector. Simply from the menu open it in a standalone mode. It is one of the nicest apps I have ever run into and you will be shocked at the cost. Free

One place along that route is the tail of the dragon on hwy 129.
Its a very scenic road that winds through the mountains.
I went through there on one of my last trips out east and it was a ton of fun and beautiful! During off season for motorcycle riders is the best time to go through there as well.

Yes, ive heard! A buddy of mine went through there last year and said it was insanely beautiful. Going to see what my time line is like going through that area.

Use Waze for crowd sourced popo information.
Waze is forsure going to be used for that and GPS. Going to have my a$$ covered lol.

I’ve driven that way to my daughter in Savannah a few times. Keeps me well away from DC Baltimore and the traffic. Parts of the drive are quite beautiful, but truck traffic can be a pain in the a$$ sometimes.

Ill keep that in mind! Nashville is going to be a stop on the way back for sure if time works out properly. Tennessee BBQ is on the list for sure ! I want to dodge as much traffic I can during the day, going there and back.

stay away from Atlanta at all costs if you can........steer clear of that city. went thru there in 2004, 2005 then 2008. swore to myself... never again.

people driving there comes with no mercy... like they are driving the stolen cars constantly.unless you are brave.... have at it. lol

They are not driving stolen cars??? That is he simplest explanation, Occam's razor suggests they must be.

My drive back puts me through Atlanta, but I didnt plan on stopping there. Nashville is most likely a stop for sure even though I know its a little out of the way but depending on when we leave Orlando, Might spend the night there. I know there is some areas to stay away from when it comes to stopping.

I went through Atlanta once, I timed it for 3:30am. It was confusing enough with low traffic, Chicago times ten. I go through Alabama now

Not a bad idea since I can stop in Talladega on the way to Nashville and see the speedway.

I've heard about that and apparently Georgia is like that as well. I plan on setting cruise at whatever the speed limit is.
And I will for sure check out those places. I will add those to the list of places!

When I brought my Tahoe home from Florida back in ‘09 I ran in a pack of 3-5 vehicles much of the way. We ran between 80 and 90 much of the way (except at night through the mountains of Tennessee, the truck on my a$$ probably wanted me to).
Anyway, things went well until I noticed a car parked on the overpass with the door open. Too late, it was a trooper resting his radar gun on the door near the northern border of Kentucky.
Lights everywhere, I slowed down changing lanes in anticipation of being pulled over. Car behind me went down first, then another, and I got passed on both sides. Cars pulled over in front of me. Cruisers came out of the woodwork emerging from the off-ramps
I felt like I just drove through an avalanche without getting hit! I crawled through the mess wondering ***.

I think Ohio was 55mph and I stayed under it until a tour bus with one side of the rear bumper hanging and bouncing around passed me in Indiana. Game on!
I believe in the color silver

Looking at your map, You'll be close to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Worth a few hour pit stop if time is available. It is right off I90 - access in and out is easy.

God damn! Yeah I usually cruise around 60mph in a 55 zone but heard the southern states are more hard on people even going 5 over. So I figured in those areas I will just stick to the limit especially at night. Dont feel like paying cops on the side of the road.😅

I would avoid I-81 if you can help it. Way too many semi- trucks. It was never designed to handle the amount of trucks it currently has on it.

A friend of mine was driving across a rural area of Texas and went through a school zone a bit above the limit. The cop handed him a hefty ticket with the option of paying it or coming back for a court date. He paid it becuse he didn't want to drive half way across Texas for court. As he was driving away he realized it was Sunday :ROFLMAO:

Noted. I think I'm taking the highway more west of that. Trying to stay on the more populated highways.
