Well, I've had it up in the past for sale but changed my mind and ended up keeping it. I'm going to take advantage of the 0% financing from Nissan and buy a new car. So my golf is up for sale once again but I'll probably tade it in very soon if no one's interested. Depends how quickly they can find me a 2010 with what I want.
There are 225500kms on it. I'm the original owner. It's a red 2 door. I've done a tonne of stuff to it since summer:
New:
Ball joints, tie rods, brakes front and rear, sway bar bushings, TB and water pump done 20000kms ago, GTI shocks/struts and springs that I had sitting around from a 2004 GTI (10000kms on them), falken tires have about 25000kms on them. VR6 Clutch with about 20000kms on it.

Also have a set of steelies. Winter tires are done though.

There are a couple issues with the car:
1. Alternator screeches a bit on start up. It's been doing this for over a year and I've just never replaced or cleaned it.
2. I've got the stupid door chime problem. So the door thinks it's open and chime keeps going off. I just done have the time right now to do the radio shack fix.
3. Dent in the rocker panel that happend from some ice a week after I bought the car new.

If anyone is interested, send me an email at rctennis@hotmail.com

Check my sig for mods.

Update---I'm waiting until I get back from the Vancouver Olympics and going to the autoshow before trading in my car. Here are some pics I took today after spraying it off:

Well, so far it looks like if I trade it in, I'll get just about $5000 once you include the tax savings on the trade in value. Just sucks because I've put around $2500 into it since the end of the summer. So anything above $5000 would be great.

Its to bad your buying a nissan. If you thought After sales service was bad from VW....just wait. There's a reason why their sales are tanking...

I'm not concerned about after sale service. I take care of things myself or through friends. VW was 0 help to me so I'm sure it won't be much worse than that.

When your rims peel at 8000km and they blame you. Not much you and your friend can do.

Man, lighten up people... I've heard horror stories from every make of car so really it's not worth worrying about. My uncle has a 350Z, no problems, my father has a sentra, no problems, my neighbour, an altima, no problems....so hopefully I'll be luckly like them :)

my preference would be the Skyline, older model, right-hand drive, six-speed manual, 400+ stock HP. apparently there is quite the market for importing them and they are not that expensive. there is a garage in Kitchener that does the "certification" on them.

I didn't say they made the worst cars. They have some fun cars. My modded maxima was fun. Corporate support is terrible, and the dealers know it too. That's part of the reason why they rank at the bottom of the customer satisfaction list. And yes, vw is at the bottom too. Buy a toyota, best advice.

Two doors are nice.

This car has Doc_OC written all over him. Maybe he will chime in and decide to get himself another diesel.

No, it's not 141000km. It has 226000kms on it. I have the door chime problem so I switched it over with vagcom to UK spec so the chime at least doesn't make noise (chime doesn't sound when it's set to UK which registers in miles).

Doc Oc has been talking to his wife about it. He's the one who did my timing belt 20000kms ago.
