Omg so full
I found a good mechanic in my town, Papillion.I would say that we dont have a great TDI shop in town.
But Corky's should be ok and Cordell fix lots of MB diesels.
EEK!! Detrimental and costly mistake if any of us CRD peeps had of got a switcheroo tank like that. Thanks for sharing.Anyone notice the news from the Norfolk, NE area in the paper today? The fuel supplier for Casey's dumped diesel fuel into the unleaded gas tanks at six locations. Easily could have been the other way round (gas in the diesel tanks).

Oh, Common Rail Diesel which is the 2009 + TDI's with the 2.0 motors that have the questionable HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) that has been known to grenade a) on its own or b) after a misfueling incident."Upon further examination" only three of the six stations affected were Casey's. Three too many. What is CRD? ( remember, I'm a TDi rookie)
Yeah, I haven't seen anyone have to pay for it yet either so that's good. When my DPF fails, I'll replace with Rawtek and RC1+ and add the pre and post filter kit that 2Micron has come up with and not worry about it.Oh, I should have known that one. I definitely know about the HPFP.... wonder how many potential new VW TDi owners first found this site (or Vortex), read about the HPFP, and went immediately to the Suburu dealer!
I decided not to worry about it (yet). Just passed 17,000 miles and one year. Besides, VW seems to be stepping up to the plate after warranty is up... they no doubt have an upper limit (like maybe 80k or 100K miles) but I have yet to read about a HPFP failure that the owner had to pay for.
I do religiously save my pump receipts though. And, buy fuel at one place only here at home (Sam's Club) and one of three places on the road (Sam's if available, Love's Truck Stops, and Shell). All big enough to use their front-pocket money to pay for my engine in a case of supply mis-fueling like occurred in Norfolk.
We'll be driving by right with ya! Welcome to the club.Hello! New to the TDI seen here in OMaha. Just picked up a 2011 JSW TDI that had 16,500 mi on it!! Not going to mod the **** out of it....yet. I am loving it so far! Just look for me, i'll be the smiling bald guy in the tornado red JSW driving past all of the gas stations laughing!!
He holed the pan by hitting a large rock on a gravel road in the Ozarks. He drove it long enough to starve the turbo of oil before shutting the engine off...only a block or two. You would think right after hitting it he would have stop to check for damage since this is the second time he's toasted the oil pan.OUCH!! How the F did he do that??
