I just found out that I won't be attending...arrgh...not even 2hrs away from me, and I can't go.

It's my alma maters homecoming, and I had already told the wifey, and the boys from the fraternity that I would be attending this year. I didn't realize until today that the two were conflicting.

Any chance on a spring GTG ON??? :D

Little early, yeah I know!
Yup too early to say, my wife still may be doing clinicals and not have the time to help. These GTG's require a large effort for the food and drinks, if she was not here to do that portion I am sure I would not be up to the job of setting things up like we do togather.

Everyone will be able to beat me in speed and economy most likely. But the Westy will be fun to drive at a very fast 50-55 mph. I just hope I can climb back up the hill by Cario going back home.

Hey the old MB 240D NA 64 hp 3200 lb sled did it with only a 3 or 4 mph loss, but I was able to get a 70 mph run at it though. Man was that big 4 banger buzzing. I sure miss that old car, she was a hoot to drive, and I never got in a hurry to go anywhere. That allowed me to see the roses as I drove past, now in the Magnum I'm lucky to see the trees. ;)

I saw one of those for sale today, ment to go back and see how much they were asking for it. :D I know it is out of my price range but for a classic like that, even a window shopper feels cool.
I saw a W123 for sale in a little hick town here in MO Monday and was thinking about a road trip today to check on the car. From what I saw it was real clean car.

Thing was I was with a buddy and he didn't want to stop and I am not real sure where the car was, because we were all over those small county roads between here and Cape Girardeau.

40x40, i already had you on the list but i'll show you as a pre-pay as per your PM. i'm not sure how Jeff wants everyone to pay, if it's easier for us to all pre-pay, i'd be glad to as well. if he'd rather accept a check in person at the GTG, that works for me as well.

jeff, can you reply and let us know how you'd like everyone to pay?

I have an autobody style slide hammer, would that work?

I could bring the crude slide-hammer I made from a metric nut, bolt and (SAE :p ) weight unless someone will have something better.

Hey, it is the Ozarks, you never know what the weather is going to do. It was really nice all of this week though, at least in Springfield.

Well last week up here in the 'frozen tundra' I had to turn on the heat after it was a high of low 50s for 3 days straight. Its back up to the high 70s now and perfect for work.

In the low 80s Tomorrow! Crazy. I'm going to claybar and wax one last time before the cold really hits.

Want to do my Magnum??? ;)

It was '83 yesterday and is 53* at the present (8 am) so the temp's should be good for the GTG and the humidity seems to have finally broke. :D

So has Jeff confirmed for 100% sure with anyone? I know he posted and said he'd like to make it, but didn't completely commit.

I'm bringing 4 cars worth of chipping with me, which I really don't want to do unless he's going to be there.

From the PM's I have exchanged with him he seems to be coming.

I sure hope he is going to be there!!
I have at least two other TDI drivers (Not TDIClub members) who are considering coming from here in Southern Illinois.

I sent a PM asking for pricing and didn't get an answer yet. Would rather prepay than carry that kind of cash hundreds of miles if I didn't have to.

MO is pretty safe, stay out of the public Rest Stops, the Metro areas of
St. Joseph, Kansas City and St. Louis. As a whole the state is very safe
outside of the areas I mentioned.:) Do not get a motel room in those
areas without consulting a local resident as to safe/unsafe areas.

When you are not in your car, be aware of your surroundings. Don't
look like prey and you will be fine. Bring your paintball gun!! You can
describe any suspect as painted and bruised!!!!:D

Contrary to the lies the Iowa folks tell, most Missourians have actually
seen that amount of money before. It doesn't impress us as much as it
used to.

See ya there!!
I'm gettin a chip too!!

Screw the paintball gun, MO has right to carry in your car. That is why seldom is anyone messed with in their cars anymore here in MO. It is why Missourians now carry money, unlike Iowa where no one lives closer then 50 miles to you. :p ;) Car highjacking is a dead art in MO now days, wonder why??? :D

Hey bring a check book if in doubt. I seem to remember he takes check's.
