Walt working on an attendance list too, or maybe a matchup from both to fill in those that may not post back?

Come on, it couldn't have been that bad. 20 chipped TDIs couldn't, well ok maybe, have torn up the road.
I think the weight of Jeff's Jetta and my Golf that finally broke the water pipe under the road. Or was it Old Navy out for a walk? :p

Many many thanks again Walt and Linda for having us all there.

This leisurely paced GTG (only 3 timing belts and finishing all work way before midnight instead of hours after), in perfect weather, was much more enjoyable. It was a pleasure once again to see others from before and meet new ones.

So what weekend is tentative for next year?

Paramedick... Bruce, you were one of the first of many to lend a helping hand. It was my pleasure (Randy Lattal, DSL-Nator) suggested the anti-shudder valve exchange for Pat's white NB. All I did was bleat... y'know, the sacraficial lamb thing... It was a feather in my cap to find the 'hidden problem'..
Frank, what can I say? You made a difficult situation very simple for me. Thank you. You have a Priority mail package coming with a EGR actuator, a right bumper grille, and a surprise parting gift. If the surprise gift is wrong for your car, let me know. I have what you need for the alternative headlights.

BTW, Pat just PM'd me. Something about passing cars again and Waaaaahoooooooo! :D He truly appreciates the assistance from everyone. He also has a new MAF plug with attached wires sitting on my desk. Made a speedrun to the VW graveyard in Lexington today. :p

Haha, did the mailman purposely drive into the sinkhole? Jeez.

Thats me elbow deep in the intake manifold. I'm only gypsy enough to be double jointed in the elbows. Too much Irish in me to be double jointed in the wrists and thumb also. That would have been real handy for that task. :p

Ok, what did you, Jeff, and MoGolf do after I left?
did you chip the CRD?
Because I know the street wasn't leaking when I left your house!

Walt, this weekend was terrific, everything i'd been hoping for over since your original post 6 months ago. i look forward to seeing everyone at other GTGs and at the ONGTG next year.

I have this person from our sign-in list that I don't see in photo list:

Bill Dewitt - West Plains, MO (not in the picture)

I had 26 people sign the check in list, but spouse's and Ian Weber didn't sign my list. I think with this list we have everyone at the GTG.

If anyone has a phone # for Cardinarky (Pat), please let me have it, or tell him to check him PMs. Ready to send him the MAF harness, but want to check that the wiring is correct beforehand.

Don't want to give the bus garage mechanics a chance to upgefucht it after it's running correctly.

Hi All,

What a great time! It was a long ride but not a problem (over 2000 miles roundtrip). The cookies were worth it! Thanks Walt and Linda for your hospitality. I always enjoy the walt-isms - I should write them down, better you should write a book of them. Hope your water isn't turned off cuz of us TDI's rumbling up & down the street.

Glad to hear everyone made it home ok. btw, someone left some (gpw) chips with me and I forgot who it was, I'll send them back, but they are junk - only 4 maps edited and done with a watering can. That's what my german friend calls it when you just grab a clump of data and give it all a 10% increase. hehe. Not very linear. . .

Thanks for the positive feedback from everyone. "Jerrrreee... Jerry... Jerry", sorry had it on my mind... very nice ride, glad it cleared up your smoking. You know I enforce a no-smoking policy! Nathan and Burpod, you guys really get around NE, Philly to Atlanta, to Mn.

Nice group photo and chalklines too. Great to put the names to the faces in the photo. Hope to see you all next year or in the spring. Off to NE Dyno day this weekend!

Jeff

Sorry I'm so rusty on posting, but I sure had a great time at the GTG. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Walt and Linda.

The Rocketchip 2/3 is great! My wife even likes it. Nothing but smooth clean power.

so if we get a confirmation from DZL_Nator and Mrs. JETaah, that'll be everyone. again, i had a great time at my first ON GTG, and i look forward to next year.

i've started collecting opinions about a Dead Center of the Country Get Together (DCotC GTG) after the success of the Kansas City GTG. i'd be excited to hear from everyone who might be interested.

That was I who left those German Parts Warehouse A3 chips with you. I spelled it out because I'd like anybody searching to be able to find this little nugget. You can just toss 'em in the trash can, or reuse them for some other A3 programming, I don't need them back.

You did just what I was hoping, which was to confirm with real data what junk the GermanPartsWarehouse programming is. The seat of my pants can easily confirm how nice the RocketChip programming is. I LOVE the midrange kick in the pants!

dashboard LCD GPS

i remember when i was there a couple different people had what appeared to be an LCD GPS mounted on their dashboard. someone had just gotten chipped and came back from a test drive to show me the 95.6mph max speed that he'd gotten up to, his little display recorded that info.

can someone give me a model number and possibly a photo of those litte devices? i think i might start looking into getting one. thanks.

The model I have is the Garmin Nuvi 350. It is middle of the road on the Nuvi line. There are other Garmin units that record speed and other trip info like the Streetpilot line. The Nuvi 350 has the text to voice option, so it tells you in "0.2 miles turn left on Duncan Street". Most units only tell you to turn left in some distance, without the street name.

http://www.garmin.com/products/nuvi/#

I think it was me that was showing off my new unit. (I had bought it the day previous) I did manage to get the max speed field to 121mph :D before I hit limp mode. (Overboost)
