Re: Feeler: Lift Kits for A4 Chassis

I dont mean to steal any of Metalnerds potential customers, but I found a guy that is going to make a batch of lift kits.

Maybe an opportunity for those who really must have the ASAP.

PM me for details.

Re: Feeler: Lift Kits for A4 Chassis

ahlcar - thanks for the interest.
We hope to post a decision about a possible Gamma test offer soon.
The alpha and beta tests are going well - corrosion - fatigue - overload and tire wear.

Manny - you can do whatever you like - however, this thread is the not the most appropriate location.
Thanks
Chuck

Us canucks are anxiously awaiting the gamma test. As much as I enjoy being the local snowplow.. I think those days are near over.

Gamma me up!

Im one of the Alpha tester, on a 2k1 Golf w/ Bilstein Sport and everything is still perfect, no premature wear after 8000Km. Thumbs up for Chuck!

Re: Feeler: Lift Kits for A4 Chassis

I have a 1" kit from that beta that has never been installed. Assuming Chuck does not object, I would be willing to sell it to another TDICLUB member. The car it was intended for was sold.

If you can return it to me, I can re-issue it for tracking purposes. I will refund your $$$.

Thanks but no. Scott will need to return the kit to us so that we can review Beta test applications/waivers and assign the kit accordingly.

Normally I would agree that it's bad manners to hyjack someone else's thread, but I think Manny is fine here. He's not stealing any of Metalnerd's potential customers, because Metalnerd is not producing this kit and does not have any potential lift kit customers. Metalnerd has made no promises about supplying kits. So if someone else is producing a lift kit, there's no reason they shouldn't get the business. I have one of Rich's 2" lift kits, and realize that there was a certain amount of 'buyer beware' when installing the kit. Metalnerd's kits are being more thoroughly tested, but since they aren't to be produced (that we know of, yet), that's worth absolutely ziltch for the moment. When and if he supplies kits, he will have the upper hand because he'll have testing data to back it up. There's a guy here in MI who's made a few lift kits, too. I haven't heard of any problems with anyone's lift kits yet.

Mine has been good for the past 25,000 miles.

Re: Feeler: Lift Kits for A4 Chassis

Good grief... so many "me too" replies... is it not possible to simply send a private email to Chuck Metalnerd to let him know of one's interest?

I look forward to reading here of his eventual production of these units, but understand that he may, in the end, decide to forego the venture for any number of reasons.

Way to go Foxtoy... I have 210k on my Jetta and I do hate it when I use my nose for a snow plow like last winter(Peloquin LSD only means both tires make sure you push more snow till you totally get high centered) and the rubbing skid plate @ the Steel Mills in Indiana
. I would like the 1.5" kit.

Re: Lift Kits for A4 Chassis

Please put me down for a 1" lift kit. It's for a 2001 Beetle and the shocks were purchased in January 2005 from Danix and never install just for the sole purpose of this lift kit. My friend Gary has been waiting for this lift kit. My cousin got him the details on your kit and Gary went out and bought the Bilstein TC shocks just for this kit from Danix.

It would be great if you could please PM as soon as possible because this car has been in need of shocks for over a year. Gary is still driving the factory shocks on his beetle and they're dead.

So, either the 1" or 1.5 inch. Cash. Paypal and installed by Herm in Maine upon receipt.

M.D.
