Passat 05 wagon
Hi I have an 05 TDI wagon. The STOP engine warning keeps flashing but my bf says the temperature is in the middle so it’s just an electrical sensor problem. He took it for an oil change but it is still doing it. I’m afraid to drive it. Has anyone had this issue? Thank you.

There are just too many to list....
The oil and temp are two different things. Which is it?

If it is oil, and the engine has never been upgraded, it may have a failed balance shaft chain drive (in which case the engine is already toast).

Oil level on dipstick?
Coolant level in resiviour?
If both are in range, you sould definitely check the oil pressure transducer with a volt meter and check its resistance or (ohms). If it tests good, engine needs to be inspected internally and it might be toast.

Find a good shop to take it to. We have a good trusted tdi mechanic in your area on our 101 page.
