Just did the first oil change on my Golf CRUA this morning. Pretty straight forward. Easy enough.

Did notice some engine oil collecting on the bottom side of the AC compressor. Wet on the bottom. Looked like I had a few drips on the belly pan. Cant see the front of the block well enough to know where it is coming from. What I can see on the bottom of the block is a little cruddy looking. Oil and dirt. Top of the block and timing cover looks ok.

Guess it could be the oil pan. Just wondering if it might be the crank seal. Anyone know of any crank seal issues on these cars? Mine has 28K miles.

Thanks

bottom front or bottom rear of the compressor?

It might be worth cracking the timing cover to see if what you're actually seeing is a weaping water pump collecting road debris.

Apologies. Missed the reply.
Bottom front of the compressor.
I have scheduled a dealer service appointment for next Monday. We'll see how that goes.
