Hi everyone,
I am leaking oil from the area between the transmission and the oil pan. This points to a potential oil pan R & R. In my MKIV, there is a gasket for the oil pan. I have been searching everywhere for a video or post on replacing the oil pan on the MKV Jetta and have not been successful. If you have a reference link, please share it!

So I cannot find a gasket. This leads me to believe there is not one. Is this true? You just use RTV or some other sealant? I do not want to do this work only for it to leak again.

Please provide your guidance.

Thank you as always!

I seem to recall just using ATV instead of a gasket on my 2006 BRM...

It suggests more than just an oil pan leak unless you've pinpointed the actual source location as the pan. It could be rear main seal too.

There is a gasket out there, both Mahle and Fel-Pro make one, but I guess they are only for cars without oil level sensor. I would guess that the preferred way to install is with RTV sealant.

Mahle - OS32326
Fel-Pro - OS30781
Victor Reinz - 101031201
