Oil filter bypass dumb question

er...you don't attach the intake to the sump. You attach the outlet to the sump, or a suitable tapped hole in the valve cover. You attach the intake to a suitable pressurized source, like the oil pressure transducer port using a tap (T-connector).

Lots of folks around here have done it with either the Amsoil unit or the OilGard. Do a search and you should find threads and pics.

Ok,
I have read the literature, but I am still
confused. In the case of oil bypass systems
that attach at the spin-on filter, the
pressure to get the oil through the filter
is from the oil pump.

However, in the case of attaching the intake
to the sump what moves the oil through the
filter and back to the sump/oil cover????
