2003 jetta tdi 5spd. My mother's car- she hit a bad bump that broke the pan. Fortunately she shut the car down when the oil light came on and had it towed to MrChill's. He replaced the oil pan with a new aftermarket unit but (what appears to be) the oil drain plug has a constant small drip. I'm suspicious that it is the actual oil drain plug (since it's the lowest point on the sump) as that's often misdiagnosed.
Nevertheless I purchased a new plug with a rubber seal set in place and thought that took care of it, but a few days later I can see that didn't, or slowed it down
Is this a common problem with aftermarket oil pans? Could it be leaking from the turbo lines but just look like it's the drain plug?

No, but aftermarket could mean anything. Usually they seal with a copper or aluminum washer
