So, just got done replacing oil filter housing due to leaking oil. Putting everything back and when putting oil dipstick in, not going in all the way?? No oil In right now. Goes all the way in except the very last part, just past where the little o ring sits. Any ideas why? I already placed the push pin in, and secured the dipstick bracket. Is it too dry and needs oil togo in? I dont want to gorce in and break it. Thanks in advance

I left the dipstick in mine when i did the oil filter housing, maybe disconnect the tube and put the dipstick back in then reconnect it? I think i only removed the pin at the top, my friendly vw tech said to only remove the pin iirc.

I don't think I had much trouble and I completely removed mine when doing oil cooler replacement. I think I applied a little clean oil onto the o-ring and with little effort it went into the hole. Can you post of a photo of what is left to go in?
