I am seeing 10k miles? Does this sound correct I was considering doing it at 8k Km or 5k miles but am thinking of moving the intervals up a little. It has the correct Liqu Molly oil and was changed in like November of last year ( we dont drive this one much my ALH does most of the work).

I still do 10,000 but I have to add a little bit (about twice) between changes so I think that helps. I know some people have said that the oil is not as good as it was and have recommended shorter changes. I don’t know if that’s true or not. I don’t think it would hurt anything except the wallet.

Sounds good. I was having a limp mode issue so I changed my fuel filter and that helped a lot but I had it again on my drive home but it happened later in the drive than it did before. I scanned it and it had a code for underboost I believe. Cleared it and took it for a good Italian tune up and it didn’t do it again so I’m thinking the fuel filter was bad and we haven’t been driving the car enough/ hard enough ( I have been driving some with it in limp mode which probably didn’t help the sticky turbo veins).

I have mk5 BXE and a mk5 bls engines both 1.9 and I always change oil and filter 5k and the engine sounds smoother after this. BXE is on 165,000 and bls is on204,000 miles both run fine. Use Mann filters also. Oil is 5w30 507 oil. This is the life blood of the engine. Both engines don’t use any oil between oil changes.
