Likely needs at least one or two of the lower control arms replaced - there is a minor click/clunk i have been chasing, but every time I check for play I can't find any. I had to change one of the rear flex lines a few weeks back, so the other side is probably not far off. I bought both sides, and the other one comes with the car.
Sounds good. Unfortunately as much as I’d like it’s not likely going to happen. If I was in the same province I’d probably come buy it today lol. Good luck selling. I’m honestly shocked Ontario guys aren’t lining up around the block for this

I've sold cars to two "fly in, drive home" guys (both American who came to me on Vancouver Island), so you know that's always an option. ;)

Funny that. I sold the last Passat that way. Picked the buyer up at pearson, it's now living it's best life in the southwest US

Too many.
Seems like a heck of a deal. I've got a wagon sitting here I was going to build with my old car's guts (died due to rot). Tempting even for parts!!

I'd be all over it as a DD.... but the wife doesn't share my enthusiasm for the TDIs, and I'm out of parking spaces too....

@Windex, I just sent you a message. I'd be very excited to perform a similar operation to re-home it in Massachusetts.

@C00lit you may want to check out #57
OMG I want to cry!!!
I would have jumped on that and gladly gone through the hassle of inspection and whatever else necessary for Quebec registration.
I wish I caught this earlier, I am not super active.
I bought myself a 2011 Golf Sportwagen 6mt for 3800$
It's already stage2, DPF and EGR Delete,
I think I overpaid due to the amount of rust work ill have to do sadly... (I am shocked at how MK5-6 VW products rust so badly compared to MK4's)
Thanks for the heads up tho, I only wished I caught it on time.

A deleted Mk6 car with the 6MT is a pretty good find, and pretty reliable. Shame about the body work needed, but still sounds like a decent ride you found yourself.

2005 Passat Wagon (BHW/5-spd conv, 03T). I keep in touch with the (2) ALH's I sold.
B5.5 Passat wagon 6sp manual for sale with many spares. $2000, read further to add up what comes with the car - need to thin the herd forces sale.

Right up front - 650k km.

Where to begin?
2005 Passat wagon, most notable - converted to 01E manual 6 speed, and now at 650k km, yup 650,000km. If you are not able to do your own repairs, at the very least basic maintenance, don't read any further.

Best way to list repairs done to the car is to visit my fuelly, as all of my maintenance (and fuel economy) is listed there.
Repairs/replacements of note within the last 10000 km:
Headlamps replaced with genuine Hella units
driveshafts replaced with GKN lobro units
front brakes with zimmerman rotors and TRW pads.

Timing belt kit was replaced at 590,000 km as noted in notes in Fuelly.

Notable modifications: The 6speed conversion above - trasnsmission from Czech republic, Sachs SRE 240mm clutch with DMF from the UK (Darkside), tune to turn off all the lights and make cruise work - Malone.
W8 overhead console, Euro switch with rear fogs, auto-dim rear mirror, Newsouth boost gauge. Radio is an older parrot asteroid android unit - does not do android auto, but does handsfree Bluetooth calls flawlessly. Euro hitch as shown in pictures - note this is 50mm/2", *not 1/7/8*
Not a mod or repair, but certainly notable is that this BHW powered Passat is on the original camshaft... I know right? Hear me out. I bought a BHW AMC cam kit a while back (cam and lifters), and take the vale cover off from time to time to check, as I assumed the cam would die, but it hasn't. last time I inspected the lobes (all chamfers still there) was about 50k km ago. The AMC cam kit comes with the car.
Speaking of, there are other things that come with the car - non negotiable:
Snow tires - almost new Goodyear snows on original 16" rims - roughly 11/32's left, only one season.
Starter (since this trans/clutch combo requires an EU only starter, I felt it prudent to get a spare
Transmission (same as above -EU only)
geared balance shaft module - I got this a year after doing the BS delete on this car, but have never really felt the need to install - the car does vibrate more than stock, but since my commute is mostly highway and the car is perfectly smooth at 120kph, I haven't installed it
Radiator, rear taillights (from a w8 - wired for the rear fogs and have the cool chrome strip at the bottom)
Spare Steering Rack, lower control arm set (TRW), spare injectors.

Starts fine in the warm and cold, without issue down to about -25c. I glow it more than once when it's that cold, and it's not happy, but fires up every time. That said, the car is equipped with a frostheater, and I plug it in every night, so starting has never been an issue - I don't bother plugging it in until overnights are consistently below zero c.

Car is on the road, insured and driving, heat and AC both work fine. Paint presents ok from 10 feet away, there is some surface rust, but no holes. paint on the roof is not pretty, and some of the surface rust is coming in around the roof rack mounts.

Of note is the transmission - when converting one of these, you need to choose between a 5 or 6 speed, SMF or DMF. I chose above because the 01E is when mated with a 240mm DMF pretty solid, and rated for way more power than even a tuned BHW puts out. That said, both of these transmissions (in the car and spare) have a slight whine in the diff has been like that for 100k km with no discernable change - fluid changes in the transmission come out as clean as when the fluid goes in. I've even had the diff to pinion clearance/backlash gone through and set by a certain TDIclub frequenting specialist located just outside of Detroit, and the diff still whines slightly - noise goes away at 120kph, and that's where I tend to stay. Car has been to Florida twice and to Montreal countless times without issue.

Summary: you have to be kind of special to actually consider this car - if you are that kind of special, let me know if you have any questions, want more pictures etc.

Windex, after all the blood sweat and beers put into this wagon, may I ask why you would choose to put this on the chopping block?

After 650km it still presents beautifully!!

@bigsexyTDI here’s your black wagon ready to roll
