I just called and the best they can do is $127/night with a AAA card... $150 otherwise. Pretty steep!

Please call again direct to the hotel. Contact Sarah Lanham. 859 271 7101 or sarah.lanham@hilton.com . There should not be any problem, they are supposed to honor the rate. Issue is because the rooms have been released so anyone can rent them. The weblink deadline was for August 2nd.

If you still have problems, please let me know.

OK -- I checked the rates online and then called the hotel in reference to the group rate. The front desk (at 10pm) said that was the best they could do. I will call them again tomorrow during the day.

It was very well advertized that the rate would increase after August 2nd. It's the cost of procrastination. I'd rather book early at a better rate and cancel the reservation if I cannot make it than book when I KNOW I can come and pay the higher price.

It was actually advertised that the hold on the Fest block of rooms would expire -- not that the rate would increase.

I'm sure an organizer will correct me if I'm wrong. But the "block" includes the discounted rate. I'm sure the $99 rate only applied to those reserving under our discount (block) rate. I couldn't even match that price with my government discount. After Aug 2nd, the "block" goes away and the rooms are released for other reservations at the regular rate as stated in the top post.

That's just my perception and my motivation for booking early.

I contacted Sarah today and I am booked in for $99 per night. She will email you an attachment and just send it back, thats how she booked me.
