Finally got an offer today for my Golf with a loan on it. I had been stuck at the documents pending approval stage and called and spoke to 4 different people on different occasions. I got someone yesterday who actually seemed to know what they were doing. They told me that the latest I could expect an offer would be the 28th?! Magically I skipped staged and have an offer today which I will get notarized today and upload this evening.

I just received my offer letter for my 2013 Passat (approx 56k miles) in Indiana with a VW credit loan. The offer is for what I thought it would be and the calculator indicated. A few things I noted was the offer letter was back dated to 11/19, but I didn't receive the notification or have my portal change until today 11/22. Also, in the doc, I have a we loan and it notes my payoff balance as of 12/03. It will be interesting to see if I'll be able to get everything approved and completed with an appointment on 12/03 so we won't have to worry about any other interest charges being changed. I'll keep everyone updated. I'll also update to google sheet when I am back at my computer.. Time to print, sign, and get the offer notarized!!

My timeline: docs submitted 9/23, docs approved 10/21, offer letter received via portal/email 11/22 (offer letter dated 11/19).. Hoping the next steps will be quick.

I don't get it why I'm not getting an offer letter. All they do is keep emailing me telling me they are still determining my eligibility, I guess I had better call them. They say all the paperwork has been received. The one I got yesterday goes as follows. They have received all the necessary documentation but are still trying to determine my eligibility which is crazy because it's a 2015 VW Golf TDI Wagon and I'm the original owner from 1.5 years ago it makes no sense.

It's different for everyone, some are getting quicker turn around than others, with little rhyme or reason.

I personally submitted my docs on 10/25, got an email 11/9 @ 11:59PM stating that my uploads contain all of the necessary information to determine my eligibility. 10 business days from there is 11/23, so I should be hearing something by tomorrow if I am eligible or not. Though, I won't be holding my breath.

I spoke with the claims customer service department this morning. I called them a week ago and my documents were still with the 3rd party review team. The lady I spoke with today said my claim had been updated and an offer letter was ready. Pleasant lady to speak with but out of curiosity I called back to see if I would get a different story from the next rep I got on the phone...NOPE. Same response and to just keep checking my email this week because they are sent out in batches. I'll keep everyone updated on when I get the offer and the dates. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Gobble Gobble

I am happy for everyone else is getting information from the claims phone system. I have been trying to inquire this morning and was disconnected by agents twice. Finally with the third person which I warned her already I was not in a good mood since I had been already hung up on twice. She looked at my record she said everything was approved internally by all parties on 11/18. She said an offer letter should be here very soon. I sure hope so because I am getting frustrated every time I call in to this claims line because I have been hung up more often through this experience than any other.

I'm up north and the closest dealer is Team Audi/VW - when I was at the dealer last month for an oil change, I asked about the process and they mentioned that they were going to have a schedule available for every day of the week with up to 8 people a day (1 hour per person). We will see once I actually get confirmation to select a buyback date.

I'm also interested to hear about the first person on the forum to turn in their car - there is another thread that shows they are completing theirs tomorrow (11/23) and they had a fully paid off car. I wonder what the differences/complications (if any) will be for those of us with loans.

I actually called my dealership and spoke with the VW buyback specialist. She told me the same thing. She is going to be staying at the same dealership. Wants to do about 6 appointments per day, possibly 5 days a week. There are 280 people signed up (not sure if all buyback or some fix, she wasn't sure until she gets her paperwork from VWGoA). I did the math (I'm terrible at it so if wrong be nice :) and it should take a little over 2 months to process all 280.

On 9/18/16 Received my buyback offer with a tentative return date. Called yesterday and was told "congratulations, all your paperwork is in order. You should receive an offer within 10 days." Told her I have an offer with a tentative date of return. She stated that one doesn't count. I need to wait for ANOTHER offer.... Anyone else in this position?

I recall getting an estimated buyback amount, but it wasn't couched as a formal offer; it seemed pretty clear that nothing could be done officially until the settlement was approved by the court.

Buyback offers started officially going out 11/1. I have green check marks since 10/13 and still waiting for offer to come.

No, you didn't. You received an estimate of what the buyback amount would be, and you chose a date whose only purpose was to estimate the effect of mileage over time. There is no "second offer"; there's one offer, which you download as a seven-page PDF from the web site (or, presumably, if you didn't check the box to receive communications via email, you'd get it hard copy in the mail).

The "nice" lady on the phone told me that all my paperwork is in order and I would hear something in 10 days. 10 days from when?

I got my green check marks on 10/13 and they told me when I called 11/2 that everything has been verified with my paperwork and I should get a offer in 48 hours. I really think they meant 48 business days cause I ain't seen anything yet.

It (receiving an offer) was supposed to be 10 businrss days from when your claim package was approved.

If you look on the claims portal now...they've removed the 10 business days note.

Essentially...VW has decided that the 10 days thing is no longer relevant.

Interestingly, I think we are in the same boat. Both with Passats in CA I got document approval 10/14 and car is paid off but not a peep since then. Does your car have a clean title? Mine has a salvage title from a wreck that occurred 6/23/16 so I kind of assumed they were taking a while to verify the dates since it was sooooo close to the cutoff date. I wish if that were the case they'd contact me as I have all of the documentation.

Mine is a clean title. Now I got my CEL on since yesterday. Ain't taking it to dealer. Will keep on driving it that way. Anything catastrophic happens at least I still have the extended warranty to use. Thought of paperwork going in early might of gave me a advantage boy was I wrong.
