My 'big' day is this Friday 330 pm. For good measure my CEL light came on today. I am going to have to patch together transportation and borrowed cars for 3 weeks (delivery of new Subaru). I could have waited but I just WANT THIS DONE!! Good riddance. Brand loyalty? Gone.

This ran in the news today. Remember, don't strip the VW, take doors, seats. LOL who would do such a thing!?

Just talked to a claims person on the hotline and was told that because of the number of people that "Volkswagen has changed their 10 day policy" I told him it was a court ordered deadline and that VW cant just change it. He said that they are because "there are millions of people processing claims right now" I scratched my head a little and asked how they can have millions of claims when only 400 and some odd thousand cars were sold? He said "don't you think that number has risen since the claims process has started?" I scratched my head again and told him "no, you cant go back in time and sell more cars". We agreed to disagree, thanks for my laugh for the day VW.

Received my reminder email today. The amount seems off (and not by a mileage adjustment). I hope it gets resolved at buy back appointment

2015 Golf SEL: $29,546 (from online calculators)
Mileage Adj: $510 (as I have 26k miles now, puts me in 5001-10000 mileage bracket at 09/15)
Total: $30,056

Amount from reminder is 29,323.13

I know (and hope) the $510 will get sorted out at buyback but the "base" amount is off by $222.87. Not sure what this could be. I am almost certain I won't be getting this based off what other folks are saying on the forums.

On my offer letter, mine was off by about $500 from the online calculations. They had originally quoted me the correct amount. Yesterday, I got an appointment reminder email for my turn-in tomorrow, and the quoted amount in the email was back to the original (correct) amount. I'll let you know tomorrow which one they honor.

They went with the original (correct) amount. My payoff amount had been updated, but still didn't reflect last month's payment.

My e-mail reminder two days ago was higher than the amount quoted in the original Letter. At first I assumed that was because the several month delay dropped me into a lower mileage bracket resulting in a higher buyback amount.

But then I realized, how would they know that I've garaged the car and not driven it since June? So it will be interesting to see what number they come up with on this Saturday.

Because you entered your mileage when you scheduled your appointment, and that number is now being used as the basis of their payment estimate. The actual payment will be based on the mileage and date when you turn the car in.

I took a look back at my offer letter. It was the same that I posted above.

So the calculator is off from my offer letter slightly. I hope it works out Monday

I thought I'd only entered mileage when originally responding to the offer, but I guess you're probably right. When I got the e-mail I looked back to the acceptance letter and noted that it said the amount could change but driving 1000 miles a month would not reduce the buy back amount and that driving it more than 12,500 might reduce it, but there was pointedly nothing about the possibility of the amount being increased by driving it less than 1000 miles a month or not at all.

Just wanted to be sure they wouldn't try to say that having signed the letter, I was bound to accept only that amount or lesser.

Maybe this will help ;)

Finally got my letter yesterday for my 11' Golf. Had my docs approved on 11/7 and have been waiting since. Active loan on the car was the obvious hang up I expect. Notarized and resubmitted my letter last night, though I had to get creative with how to get the notary symbol to show up. Hate to see the car go, it's been fun to drive and very reliable, short of the intercooler design. I could care less about the emissions, it's the condensation build up in the intercooler during cold weather driving that's forcing the buyback for me.
