(Yes, it's me again. I'm everywhere... )
I'm D/3LB but I also have an 2003 and have my left over can wires from premium radio which I believe go to the can controller on the cluster btw my cluster is a true 1J5920846Apheller said:Nice work!
There is a whole different control module that will actually show the phone book and caller ID in the FIS, if you weren't aware
Though, it only works with a CAN based FIS cluster, and requires the TMC. Not sure if you're D/3lb or G/CAN...
cradle 1J0035705B wont work because it's for a Nokia 6210 and that phone is a dual band GSM thats why I used 1J0035705F for the Nokia 6310I tri-band phone and the only interface that works with that cradle was the 1J0035729H and yes the HW does matter each phone has different pinouts I tried to use the 1J0035729 interface didnt work because its for the Nokia 3110 for cars with telematikspheller said:Seemingly, you'd need one of: 3B0035729F, 3B0035729G, or 7H0035729 (The control module that is CAN aware)
Cradle: 1J0 035 705 B (I imagine this is exactly as was shown above installed in the middle armrest)
Phone: Nokia 6310i (Firmware 5.10, might not be importent)
It is confirmed to work with a 1J5920846C Instrument Cluster, which would mean needing the 3B0919894A TMC Tuner.
And, if you want to add the Steering wheel buttons to control the phone, you'd need the switch assembly (P/N escapes me), and the new Multifunction Steering wheel controller (1J0907487A).
Add wires, hours of struggle, and magic, then you get:
Seems the CAN aware controller has a K-wire connection too, which means it should be possible to code it to English.
Viel Spaß!
lol I have T-Mobile now the I was told 900/1800 wont work in the states but I guess T-Mobile uses a different band? bc right now I'm only running on the 1900bandpheller said:Well, it is possible to use the dual-band phone here, so long as you're ok with limiting yourself to just T-Mobile.
Yeah, to make this work is, well, certainly combining equipment from several brands/models in the VWAG lineup.
I never went to far with this because I had no intention of using an old technology Nokia phone. Though, there is some progress in the German forums on reverse engineering the CAN packets for the FSE option. And it appears to me that the progress is in the direction of using a bluetooth kit and AT commands to pull the address book.
If only I were keeping my Jetta, I'd probably have to dig deeper into this.
true lol one question if I hook up the two wires I have left over from my convenience can from T32b/8 T32b/9 into my navi T26/13 T26/26 will it do anything?...bc thats the only difference between the passat with ver G is the TMC gets wired into the convenience can T32b/8/9 same wiht Delta 6 and the ver D doesn'tpheller said:You're totally right. Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop drinking. ;-)
I'm confident, though that with some work, the right combination of stuff could be hacked together to make this work. A 6310i would likely work in 1J0035705B, only the factory fitted antenna would be tuned to 900/1800.
As best as I can tell, 6210 and 6310/6310i share the same pinout:

Perhaps this discussion is academic at this point anyhow.
If you are currently using 3LB connection to the cluster, then the CANBUS connection won't work as well - I believe you can only have one or the other.greekdubber said:I'm D/3LB but I also have an 2003 and have my left over can wires from premium radio which I believe go to the can controller on the cluster btw my cluster is a true 1J5920846A
