I'm starting to look into a TDI swap, and I was wondering where you guys pick up your engines. Personally, I'd prefer to get a wrecked car whole, because it seems you can do that for not much more than you'd pay for just a running engine with the associated wiring, etc. How would I go about finding information on salvage auctions and things like that? Or would you recommend just picking up a complete engine someplace?

Send a PM to VW4Motion. He can get you about whatever you need from europe and send it over via container ship. He can get deals good enough that I am considering cashing in on the huge amounts that many are willing to pay for TDIs on Ebay right now and use the cash to build me a PD150 with a 6speed in a 2 door with a cage and other go quick goodies. Maybe a 4 motion US TDI would be nice?

Beta, or anyone,
Have you seen a swap done to a Air-cooled VW cars? or Bus?( I thought I saw an old 62' split window bus with a TDI conversion? And a 914 with a NA Diesel somewhere on the internet?) How difficult do you guys thin it will be? Do I need the complete wiring harness, gauge cluster, and gas pedal?
I'm thinking of swapping into my 74' 914.
What about the Audi A5 2.5 TDI (140Hp)engine? I've heard people are converting it into the Vanagon, will there be enough room to fit into the 914? Will Upsolute chip those motors? Can I add a larger turbo in addition of the VNT15 to create a sequential twin turbo setup? (for high rpm range, my chipped TDI golf power curve went flat around 4000+ RPM! I would like the larger turbo to pick up the boost after that, and let the curve climb a bit up to 6000? (like the new BMW)
Any help or comments will be appreciated
