Hello fellow TDI enthusiasts;
Our company, Sensolutions, is a manufacturer of OBDII connectors and PC interface adapters. The ISO 9141 adapters are designed to work with VAG-COM. Since our current products are housed in our own connectors with integrated housings we have some older housing style adapters that are available at reduced rates:
OPTO-COMS: $55 US / $82.50 CAD
MAX-COMS: $75 US / $115.00 CAD
MAX-COMS EURO: $80 US / $120 CAD
These are adapters only, no serial cables are included.
OPTO-COM - the picture does not show it well but there is a K line status LED near the DB9 connector (same location as for the MAX-COM LED). K and L lines are protected with auto-reset fuses. The OPTO-COM adapters have a connector that is mainly suitable for the North American VW and AUDI, it is also a design that is not compatible with laptops that have "lame" serial ports (Compaq for example). These problems are well documented (Ross-Tech website and VAG-COM Yahoo! users forum). It is fundametally the exact same design and package that is sold elsewhere on this forum.
MAX-COM. This product is a single K line ISO 9141 interface adapter which uses automotive grade SMD components and has intrinsic K line protection (no fuses). A single dual color LED indicates power and K line status. This design will work on any laptop with a serial port.
The MAX-COM EURO is exactly the same as shown above but it has a red Delphi connector that is compatible with the tight fitting European VW (B5.5 Passat) and AUDI.
