Hi,

Need a bit of help/suggestions. I currently have N.American cjaa/CR 2.0 TDI with a stage 2 tune from JR auto(with dpf egr intact). I didn’t get the support, or response I needed, and looking to go with a different tuner. Tuner likely won’t be local, so I would have to utilize one of the powergate OBD flash tool.

Question, would I still need the original tuner to flash the ecu back to stock, before I can get a new tune? Or, can these obd read/write device re-flash over my existing tune, with a new tune? Is there risk of bricking ECU like this? My tuner hasn’t responded, as looking to re-tune DPF & EGR out and also plan on upgrading turbo(next year).

Thanks

Ron

Best aproach is to let them flash the ecu ! In the event the ecu is bricked, it's their problem and not yours ! Also the ecu might be read protected by previous tuner, it might need bench flashing to read the tune that's at the moment !

Yeah no answer from Buzzken so I’ll have to see if I can go straight to JR auto tune. Just brutal!

AFAIK Buzkin sells hardware, Malone sells software, try reaching out to Malone and avoid the middleman, (btw Malones is another fine Canadian Company).

Also try looking aw Rawteck for DPF deletes (again, another great Canadian company). I believe same software can be used for either hardware solution.

I have a darkside downpipe. And, you’re def right about Buzzken selling hardware. He was just the closest JR tuner so I had him do some work and then added tune. Anyhow, I’ll figure out and I do realize I made a mistake. Although, tune has been good the past couple years, just no support to retune, sucks!
