First trip to Canada. Wondering if I should mount snows, its winter here in the city but the need for them is minimal.

99.5 used to at least...
Yeah leave the snow tires in the garage because you'll only outbrake the tailgater behind you and end up getting rear ended.

Check the weather reports and plan accordingly.

I've run into some pretty horrific road conditions in New York State... for some reason, more snow tends to stay below the border than eventually makes it up here - with some notable occasional exeptions...

What route are you planning to take ??

If you're mostly on 400 series highways you'll likely be fine, unless your on the roads the day of a snow storm. Rural roads are a different story and will stay icy and snowy days/weeks after a good dump.

I was just fine without the snows. New years eve and day it dumped 10-15cm in Peterborough On. I was surprisingly satisfied with the performance of two new front fuzions.
500 miles in 7 1/2 hours. Heading north 280>80>380>81>137>401>28/115.
Returning took 9 hours with the snow. Good drive decent fuel economy while speeding.
