If you are interested in getting chipped or adding a tuning box list your name, make and model of your car here and send an email to Garettp. If you are getting a tuning box show up at the GTG on 7/21 to have it installed.

Do we have a cost $$$ nailed down for this? Or is that based on how many people want to get the software? oh yeah, I want the CHIP. Thanks!

Tad Cox, 01 Golf GLS, chip please! (perhaps the low-smoke model?)

Also interested in checking my timing if the equipment is available.

Are we making appointments here? I work swing shift and have to drive up from Portland, so if I need to be there before mid-afternoon I'll have to make special arrangements.

Is there some minimum of interested parties we need to have the chipping happen? If so, I'll try to get some Vortex guys interested.

The more the better - I will contact Garrettp to finalize that the will come base on the fact that we have 6 getting chipped so far. If we can get additional people from VWvortex that would be great. If you cant make it during daytime hours other arrangements can be made throughout the morning/ afternoon/ evening or midnight hours.

Heinz,
Sorry to hear about your Golf.

Just got in today from three weeks in France,
loads of Golf TDI's! To bad my Rental was a Peugot. Good news it was a Diesel.

Count me in for the July 21 GTG.
Ready to get UPsoluted, rear pads, meet and learn from everyone!
Will it be possible to descreen, and Piper-X too?

Heinz, are you implying that there will be TB's available by the GTG on the 21st? If so, I'll be tickled. I've been waiting on a triple since December!
Did you buy back your old Golf and do some part swapping yet?

Garrett, Is there much difference in power and performance between the low smoke Upsolute chip and the original Upsolute? To be installed in a 1996 Passat TDI Wagon. Has any one out there tried both?

Tuning boxes will be available at the GTG. I was able to remove most items from my old car except the ECU so the chip is gone

Heinz, so where did the prior noble steed get put out to pasture? You/somebody might be able to get a good deal on a not-quite-standard ecu from the auto recycler. Eh?

Unfortunately the ECU generaly goes with the engine - besides its easier to get chipped then to get charged +$500 for a used ECU.
The dead steed will probably go up for auction in mid august for around 4K-5K since the motor did not get crunched and the tranny is fine also including the whole interior. At this point chipping sounds like fun but on an automatic with a tuning box already ???
