Yes, it's finally happening....

I am going to set up a running group buy for
these MFI gauge clusters...

I'll get them as you need them.
No group buy threshold!

Please note: cluster price includes all applicable freight (to NJ), duties and core charges. shipping from NJ to you is not included.

the set of wires and connectors and parts needed
to do the wiring mod to control the MFI display
is $155. Diagrams to guide you with this wiring are included.

contact me for additional details

my email address is paternos@att.net

Thanks for the heads-up Komet, I'm definetly interested.

One question, will this gauge have all the indicator lights, like the Glow Plug light? Since I have already had an error code flashed through that light, I kinda like it's existence...

UGH! JOE! Why must you tempt me?! heh heh Here's a pic of that beautiful dash.

The speedometer is in MPH. The only difference in gauges is the water temperature gauge is in C instead of F.

Hello Komet,

I've got a question for ya. If we buy the MFI guage cluster for $395, and then purchase the wiring and various connectors for $130, will this give me everything i need to hook this up? I'm guessing i'd have to source a vag-com at one point. So what i am getting at is $525 gives us everything we need to do this job, except the vag-com right?

correct.

However, technically speaking, you WILL need a few butt connectors and some length of 18 gauge wire to run from the terminal wires on the outside temp sensor into the car, because the factory wires arent (available) long enough to make it all the way there.....

those are not included.

Both gauges are basically the same
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Not quite true. Remember, the Redline(on the Tach) for the TDI's is different from the gassers.

Since you answered Geordi directly concerning the glow plug indicator, I missed the response. Basically, is this a fully functioning cluster for the TDI? TIA

BTW, I hate you for tempting me with goodies such as this.

Joe,

Were you going to update the prices to match what you're offering on the Vortex??

Even better!
After I get my ProjectZwo grille, Eurobumper, and 4-motion valances painted and installed I'll be getting me a new dash!

i have negotiated a better deal with my dealer contact AND have lowered the price overall to see if it increases demand/volume...

If my dealer decides to rescind his price "incentive" because the demand isnt there to support it, i will have to raise the price again..

there is no "time limit" per se right now...

What you have to remember is that this cluster sourced from the UK is around 146 pounds. That is a retail price with no discount.

I know that a core charge of 150 pounds is what's required to buy one of these clusters. And, your old NON-MFI cluster will not qualify for an exchangeable core.

So, you can contact a UK dealership, and most likely pay $400 plus shipping to get one of these clusters.

The price Komet is asking for is good.

Yes!

The multifunction display will "work" after the cluster is properly programmed and installed, even without the extra MFI wiring.

HOWEVER, you will not be able to scroll through the functions or get an outside temperature reading.

so, it will be active, but stay on one screen.
