Yes, but these models have provided enough revenue and profit to allow those companies to continue building sports cars. So for that I'll accept the irony.

I toured the Morgan factory while visiting England two years ago. They build those cars one at a time using an Old World team hand built method. The craftsmanship and pride in the work is obvious. They also displayed a few non-production prototypes including a plug-in battery electric.

The chassis by-the-way are NOT and never have been of ash wood as some think. The coachwork frame for the bodies only is made of wood.

I love the tonneau cover. I learned to drive in an AH Sprite and used to drive it to high school in damp weather with the tonneau cover on, driver's side unzipped. If I ran the heat it kept most of me warm. That was fun.
I did the same with my first car—1979 MGB.
