Putting this out in case anyone on here has interest in joining. After talking with other TDI owners around the area who have finished some good projects this summer, I am working on organizing a GTG to exchange info, show off some great builds, and do a little swap meet if anyone needs parts.
Location: Helena, MT - meeting at the State Capitol grounds (parking area on the NE corner of the statehouse)
Date: Sunday October 6, ~10am to ~4pm or whenever folks need to start rolling home.
We'll plan to start with a GTG/hangout in a kind of Cars & Coffee format at the Capitol, then also a short trail cruise for the 4x4 vehicles involved. Probably somewhere to the Continental Divide or up Orofino Gulch. I will scout a few locations this week and we'll have firm options by the weekend.
I will bring coffee and bagels over, plus a table to set up and a few chairs to hang out in. Folks welcome to add more of those type items if you wish. If you have parts you want to sell or need to buy, bring them or let folks know your needs ahead of time so others can bring. I will also bring a VCDS HEX+CAN cable and make it available if anyone needs to plug in, plus mechanical pump timing tools for those playing with M setups.
We'll have a good number of TDI swapped vehicles, so that is kind of the theme, but any TDI would be gladly welcomed, or older/related diesel vehicles too. Currently have a couple AHU swapped Vanagons, at least one BHW swapped B7 Audi A4 Avant, ALH-swapped Toyota Prado 4x4, a BEW Smyth Ute, and a few more. Non-TDI rigs to include a RHD 80 series Toyota Land Cruiser TD and an '80s VW LT45 4x4 TD if timing works out. One or two 2.5TDI swapped Eurovan Campers may make it as well. Should be a great group and a good time!
