North East GTG Sept. 26-28 2008

I know it's real short notice, but I just became aware that the TDI Cup will be at the New Jersey Motorsport Park between Sept. 26-29 2008. Just wonder if there would be a group of people interested in going and meeting up. I'm going to write to VWOA and see if they can secure seperate parking for TDI owners only so we can show off our sedans and SWs.

Sorry about that, but it is 2008 not 2009.

I have an email off to VWOA marketing to see if we can group together. Hope that they can see it as a marketing tool.

VWOA Would love our 2009 Jetta TDI as a marketing tool at the TDI Cup, after all they designed it. We bought the demonstrater TDI from our dealer and kept "Jetta TDI Clean Diesel" across the windshield and the blowing leaves around the front wheel arches. "Take Me For A Test Drive" on the trunk is gone. It gets a little too much attention as it is at the grocery store.

I've been thinking about it - not sure if I can make it work. Right after they were at Lime Rock I found out that a coworkers brother is some head guy involved with this. He travels everywhere and would get me into the hospitality tent. Might be too good to turn down!

Sept 28 is also the same weekend the H2o in Ocean CityMD
is nice idea but not the right time for me.

No offense to anyone but when did New Jersey move to the Northeast? Aren't you folks living in the Mid-Atlantic states? At least that what I remember from my geography lesson from the middle of the last century.

Sadly, H2O is also that weekend....and I LIKE H2O. The Tdicup will likely be fun....but I'm not driving....and I dont build nor do I own those cars(my criteria for going to a race event save the ALMS)...... Maybe I will consider stopping in on the way home though......

Lubec isn't big enough to accomodate all of us. If one were to keep moving 'north-east' one would be 'south-east' Canadian!
The Azores are closer to being "mid-Atlantic" than Jersey shore or the DelMarVa penninsula.
And where are Rhodesia, East Pakistan, Burma, Rangoon, Bombay, Peking?

Burma - Indian Ocean Bay of Bengal
Rangoon - captial of Burma
Bombay - N Indian Ocean

What a great race. It's amazing watchin these cars pushed to the limits. They're too damn quiet though! It was run very professional. Got to view the tech center and ask the crew some questions. Got invited to the VIP lunch and talked to interesting people including the couple that broke the record for the least fuel used. Very friendly. Everyone should watch this race.
