Trying to figure out what this noise is.

Car runs perfect, no CEL on the dash

Had a stage 2 tune, DSG tune, timing belt, and DPF delete done about 2 months ago

I'm getting really good mileage since all of this stuff was installed, about 560miles range once I hit 1/4 tank.

Here's another clip, only driving slowly here

I didn't hear anything that jumped out. Can you describe the new noise?
It's a rattle or maybe a knocking noise. I can't think of a way to describe it other than that. Might need to wear headphones (I can hear it with my phone speaker when using the YouTube app)

honestly I don't think it's knocking, it sounds more harmonic, I know I have a lot of excess vibration since they installed the downpipe. I'm hoping it's just the exhaust noise coupled with vibration

fwiw sounds just like mine did

it has the same "harmonic" low pitch almost like resonent frequency of the car/air volume that my car currently has. i swear it has something to do with the perfect mix of engine load + rpm + gear

i did listen to the video with my headphones, at as high of volume i could, it sounds normal to me

i deleted at 122k miles, cracked 216k miles couple days ago and no major issues. if you havent had your DMF replaced, start budgeting for it!
and dont let shops bully you into a new clutch pack! if you dont have slipping now, and you are on top of your DSG services, tell them to pound sand. ALSO! find a shop that WONT drop the subframe!!! itll save you on the labor bill PLUS save you an alignment. anyone who says you have to drop the subframe to get it out doesn't know what their doing imo. (IE, basically just blindly following VW procedure. sure the work will be good, but it is unneeded labor hours YOU will pay for!)

yeah already went through the failed DMF. lol

what can I do to eliminate a knock or timing issue, can VCDS tell me anything? anything I can do to narrow it down. the noise only becomes apparent after the car is fully warmed up. I also hear it very audibly when slowing down to a stop when the car downshifts from 3 to 2 to 1, I can't tell if it's an exhaust issue or something else

diesels are just noisy, especially as they get worn in with age/mileage
i've listened to your video a couple times and dont really hear anything out of the ordinary

my CR is beginning to sound like an old PD with the miles i've got on it lol

i even have a rattle / knocking noise under certain idle load conditions, AC on/off, in gear vs not, etc. not sure what it is, probably my skid plate vibrating against a trim panel or something

I'm just worried the shop that did the work didn't tighten something down all the way and it'll work itself loose, or that stage 2 tune is too much for the car being that it's fully stock

i have trust issue's letting anyone work on my car, if i do let someone work on it i end up putting it on jacks and checking everything myself. maybe you should do this too for peace of mind.

as for stage 2 being too much for the car to handle, nonsense! i drove around on stage 2 for a long while, 60k+ miles i believe. was fine! i have the turbo which made it to 215k miles sitting on my desk here, no shaft play, no oil in the intake, i bet i could have gotten another 100k out of it easily.

i now have a GTB2266 turbo on my car, the same car as you, and it's running fine. i am about 4k miles into this new big turbo and love it

edit: i also went ahead and rewatched your 2 video's, it sounds exactly like my TDI did on stage 2. i wouldnt worry about anything

it's a lot louder than you can hear in the video, something is definitely going on. when I get the car back from the body shop (hit a massive 🦝) I'll pop the hood and rev it up so you can hear it more.

i watched it again and i think i hear some sort of really really quiet deep knock sound. have you replaced your DMF?

see if the sound is worse on the driver side, specifically by the wheel. if so it is probably the DMF and you just didnt notice until after all this work

already had the DMF done late last year, this isn't the same sound (I'll never forget the DMF rattle lol)

LOL The only noise that stuck out to me was your turn signal.

People around here don't know what they are or how to use them. LOL
