No Tow Hook?

I just checked my spare tire and I don't see a tow hook. Called the dealership and they said the 2011 Jetta does not come with one, I find that extremely hard to believe.
Also, there is another cut out right beside the jack and I'm not sure what goes there, can someone list all the things that came with the spare tire?

Of course the manual says I have one. I wonder why the dealership would say something like that.

Look in the owner's manual to see what's listed, then call VW Customer Care and ask them what it's suppose to come with and then tell them what's missing. My '09 came with everything listed in the manual.

I checked the manual, it's definitely listed, but I also heard that the manual isn't always correct.
But I will contact VW customer care first thing tomorrow morning, thanks.

the manual also states:
"The contents of the vehicle tool kit depend on the vehicle configuration. The following describes the maximum contents"

Yep, the only thing missing is the tow hook. When I bought an '06, the tow hook was missing. I went back to the dealer and the saleswoman gave me one.
Does the '11 have the places where you can screw it in?

yea, when I went to the dealer I saw about 10 jettas with a took hook connected to the front. I wonder if the dealer wants to save some money.

Tell your salesman, they'll probably just take one off another car.

Go the Customer Care route and see if they help. Ask them if the '11 comes with the tow hook first, otherwise they'll stick up for the dealer.

weird, I had a tow hook in my glove compartment and in my trunk.......but no block heater cord.

they let me keep both hooks and gave me a cord from another car...

You should have a tow hook. I just bought a 2011 also. It should be by your wheel and tools. It's the normal VW screw in type. They use these when they ship them, for stabilization purposes.

Mine was in the passenger side door pocket. Although, you'd know if yours was there already...noisy little pos...

Mine came with one...you have to check them out before you leave lol..mine didnt have mdi cord or block heater cord so i made them get them for me lol

Never believe anything a VW sales person tells you, ever. Since there's no way to hook up to the bumper of the car, there has to be another way to tow it. VW has been using a removable front i-hook since at the late 90's.

Also, next time you have an issue, if the salesmonkey gives you an answer that makes little to no sense, start climbing the ladder: sales manager, general manager, then dealership owner.

It screws into the hole under the square.

I haven't actually looked, but on previous generations, there's a metal tow loop welded to the body in the back somewhere.
