The initial shop threw some thick used oil in my car. The oil was thick enough that the VVT valve wouldn't operate correctly. I was getting a flashing glow plug because of that. After I changed the oil and cleaned the VVT solenoid with parts cleaner the glow plug light went away

I have open up there and clean (no gunk found). Changed: lift pump, crank position sensor, battery, fuel metering valve...still cranks longer than it should. Never as long as in that video tho.

I have a 2015 Jetta TDI. I've had all sortd of issues with it lately, but the most recent has me stumped and I'm hoping for some advice.

I just recently replaced the HPFP about, 1000 miles ago. No metal noticed in pump or filter. Last week I noticed that I was getting slightly lower fuel mileage on the way home. Made it all the way home, including driving up my steep driveway without any issue. It would not crank up the next morning. Speed Test
I cracked open the fuel lines on the injectors and I was getting fuel. Realized later that I was only getting a spurt of fuel from the in tank pump. Replaced it and now I'm getting fuel into the HPFP but nothing is coming out of the HPFP. I took the metering valve off and it's clean as a whistle.

I swapped the metering valve out from my old pump and while a little quieter, it didn't help any. Still no fuel at the injector line.

I disconnected the incoming line into the filter, and turn the ignition on and it would just spurt fuel. With both the new and old pump. Could the new pump be bad as well?
Are there any DTCs? Does the rail pressure sensor value build quickly as soon as you start cranking the engine?

Did a new fuel lift pump fix this issue? I've been reading on this forum and seeing a lot of threads end with no end result. Just curious.

Ended up getting a junkyard motor and putting it in. I kept finding more and more needle bearings attached to the drain plug. It surprisingly ran for 2000 miles after finding the first few needle bearings. I'd say that's pretty damn good engineering on VWs part 😂 😂 😂

Well that's sad to hear. Thanks for the update!
