hi everyone

have a no longer roadworthy awd octavia 2.0 pd which i have cut the back half off and replaced with a tube frame, just as a toy to drive around the paddock. unfortunately somewhere in my heavy weight reduction i have caused an issue where it now has zero response to the throttle pedal. vcds is showing it as working but will not rev at all. figured it might be a brake switch issue(no longer has taillights) but have bypassed the wiring so it thinks the brake is never on(getting the 000 it should on vcds) still no rev. not getting any codes other than missing airbags etc. any idea what else might cause this?

Yes, this sounds like the ECU thinks the brakes are on. If you can rev the throttle a couple times and function comes back it's pretty much the smoking gun.

A thought: there are two sets of contacts in the brake switch... have you bypassed both of them?

Thanks Vince. Yeah from what i could make out on the wiring diagram one gets a signal to the ecu when the brakes are off and the other gets an earth through the taillights? Vcds seemed to think I had it right.

Made some progress today in that if I clear the engine codes it would rev but if I turned it off and on it wouldn't again.

Has one code 001602 - Sensor Reference Voltage A: Circuit: Low.

any idea what this might be?
