VWOA has announced that a fix will become available for the 2013 and beyond models, but unfortunately no fix will be available for the 2012 or earlier models. Source: RUETERS

2.0 or 3.0? Seems like lots of 2.0 variables, only 2 variables on the 3.0 l engines and the change was 2012...

Sounds like what the pro guessers were guessing for the 3.0's

I think hes reading just a hair into paragraph 6. But Id say its accurate.
It says:

"...agreement includes a buy-back offer for about 20,000 older Audi and VW SUVs and a software fix for 60,000 newer Porsche, Audi and VW cars and SUVs, the sources said.

A separate, more complex fix is expected to be offered for the older vehicles."

It does not say they threw in the towel. I think my grade school teachers called it "reading comprehension".

I would say paragraph 6 is talking only of the 3.0 engines. So I doubt there is any news of fix or no fix for Gen 1 2.0 engines.

And paragraph 6 is a reference to this article from Reuters.

It keeps referring to the "Audi, Porsche and VW 3.0-liter vehicles", very little new information on the 2.0 TDI's. So unless I am missing something, this doesn't affect my 2.0 TDI.
