Would increasing RPM to 4000 not be likely to be taking the hydro pump out of it's efficiency band though? And to be fair most forklifts I've ever used haven't had a problem with engine power to lift things up to their safe working load and drive. I wouldn't want to overload a forklift, the brakes on them are usually only good enough for the design speed.

what flywheel housing pattern due these use? would it be happen to be sae? if so who would the vendor be and the part #?

The truck is german. I don't think there is a single thing standard on it. I can get you the linde part number a little later.
